  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Re-circumcized?

Interesting. It makes me think about Evangelicals who believe that people should be baptized again after having a conversion experience. Baptism is the work of God through the Sacrament. Being "baptized" a second time makes about as much sense as trying to be circumcised a second time: once...

Any Anglican Catholic Ordinariate people here?

I have heard this before, but don't understand what the reason for it is. Maybe some of the Catholics here can explain why this might be the case. Is there a negative feeling toward Catholics of less common liturgical rites (such as Maronites) in general, or is this something specific to the...

Any Anglican Catholic Ordinariate people here?

I'm probably going that direction eventually. I think a lot of Catholics may not realize that the historic end-game of Anglo-Catholicism (for many at least) has been reunification with the RCC while maintaining those Anglican liturgical traditions that are compatible with the faith of the RCC...

Any Anglican Catholic Ordinariate people here?

Are there any people here involved in the Ordinariate for Anglo-Catholics returning to full communion with Rome? I am becoming more and more interested in the idea, and I would love to hear from some people about how they feel like it is going.

    Anglicans and the Catholic Ordinariate?

That sounds a little close to an ad hominem fallacy, which is almost the rhetorical equivalent of a "yo' mama." :D By the way PV, I really hope you realize that I'm just messing with you. I do agree with you that Lex orandi lex credendi can be reasonable way to determine Anglican...

    Anglicans and the Catholic Ordinariate?

"All that glitters is not gold" I wouldn't have to read ALL of the prayer books to know that SOME of them differ now would I? Fallacy of Division ;) However I have read all of the official Prayer Books that are written in English, as well as those written in several other languages.

    Anglican Church Body Suggestions

As you just said, be careful, it is a violation of the rules to call others non-Anglican. The fact of the matter is that there is more than one version of the prayer book, being used by people who call themselves Anglicans. Those prayer books actually teach different doctrines. So which...

    Anglicans and the Catholic Ordinariate?

Irrelevant because of the different official Prayer Books and liturgies used throughout the Anglican Communion. If no one is praying the same thing, then no one is believing the same thing

    Anglican Church Body Suggestions

I'm assuming that you mean the fallacy of Argumentum ad Populum, which would be a reasonable objection if it were relevant to the OP. The OP is asking about where he can find a church that worships in the Anglican tradition but that teaches in conformity with many of the beliefs that he already...

    Anglicans and the Catholic Ordinariate?

Ok Anglican according to whom? The Calvinists? The Anglo-Catholics, the Liberals, the Evangelicals? These are very different and mutually exclusive viewpoints. Says who? What authoritative Anglican document says that these things are rejected? There are a lot of visitors to Walsingham...

    Anglicans and the Catholic Ordinariate?

Yes, that's the best reason that I can think of as well. They ARE in fact, competing theological systems however. Also, TEC, ACNA, AMiA, and the Continuers are all competing jurisdictions in a sense.

    Anglicans and the Catholic Ordinariate?

As I said in the OP "Anglo-Catholic, Calvinist, Liberal and Evangelical Anglicans" are all different theological persuasions found in the Anglican Communion, as is the adherance to numerous different liturgical forms. However we call all those different groups "Anglican." So what makes them...

    Anglican Church Body Suggestions

I accept all those things, however as we both know there are a huge number of Anglicans that do not. In fact I would not be surprised if the majority of Anglicans worldwide did not.
