  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Christianity Made Easy

Kamtre, what you say comes from the modern Western Christian perspective (by which I mean the last couple hundred years). This is not what the Christians have always believed. This is precisely why the idea of basing your faith entirely on your own personal understanding of the Bible is...

    Santa

I agree with what you posted. It would also be nice if the kids were taught about the actual St. Nicholas though. If you told a couple kids (boys especially) that St. Nick punched Arius at the first ecumenical council in 325 AD, they would probably have more respect for the holiday than ever...

    Christianity Made Easy

It is not merely enough to believe in Jesus or the Trinity. Even the demons believe-and tremble, wrote James. In order to understand salvation properly we must look at the entire Bible and the teachings of Christianity from the beginning and what was passed down. What you wrote is good (for...

    Can someone explain this?

Chris I admire your interest in Christianity. There is something you should know before you ask people about their understandings of the faith though. In Christianity today there is division of East and West and subsequently in the teachings/theology of each. The Eastern understanding is the...
