  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Either you intentionally play this word game and are therefore intentionally annoying. Or maybe it's just the way you are. In either case there's more fruitful ways to spend time as this thread has and posting replies with you have run it's course.

Wasting time? Have you yet wondered why no one agrees with anything you say? Come back when you figure that one out. Hint: It's not because everyone else is wrong!

Which section of the NT is the most influential to your Christian walk?

I was wondering about this an decided to try the poll. I know the breakdown isn't the most flexible but it seems generally accepted. When I was a new Christian the Gospel's had the biggest influence, that's now changed. Which is the most influential in helping you to mature as a Christian?

The only right foundation is Christ, not Calvin or Arminius (sp?). 1 Corinthians 3 Read This Chapter 3:4 For when one R106 says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not mere men? R107 3:5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants R108 through whom you believed, even...

CONTINUED FROM PREVOUS POST: Romans 14 14:1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. 14:2 One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. 14:3 The one who eats is not to regard with contempt...

While I truly believe that Calvinist doctrine is false. I know that my Calvinist brothers and sister love Jesus Christ and trust in Him. It's great to to debate and discuss, it is tough though when some define anything that disagrees with their view as "a false Gospel" and draw a line in the...

How do you feel about Easter?

For me I'm in awe the Christ willingly gave Himself up at the cross. As the veil of flesh, was ripped and broken so that individuals can now approach the God directly. There is a quote from Major Ian Thomas that sums up the gospel this way: "The life that He lived qualified Him for the...

    more than john 3:16

Very true! Too discuss with knowledge is important. I heard a terrific sermon from Major Ian Thomas, who taught about Jesus' instruction to the Apostle's to wait until the Holy Spirit came. This was because they didn't know enough about the Gospel to talk about it. The full Gospel was then...

    Why 'fear' God?

Fear in the Bible means to show honor and respect. It's impossible to respond to what you read without more info and without any context to it. As to who was wrong, if you can pinpoint the quote and we can read the context someone could respond.
