  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

America : What IF it had remained distinctively Christian

It might be enlightening for you to look at how the "solidly Christian," nation you're promoting treated African Americans in the 1800's, as well as the children of the poor. I don't thinking keeping children of less than 10 working 14 hours a day for starvation wages, and taking no care to...

    Young earth creationism

Thanks, hello to you too. IMO, the narrative at the beginning of Genesis shows a sin as a falling away from God. A separation from him. It also lays out a number of other important theological concepts which underpin all of Judaism and Christianity. 1. That God created the world and that His...

    Is the New Testament inspired?

I can agree with this to a certain degree. However, how is it determined that the letters of Paul and other apostles, which seem to be coming from men, to an audience of other men, are in fact the inspired word of God, without error? I know that Acts shows the apostles preforming miracles...

    Young earth creationism

Here is my problem with YEC: Science can't "prove" anything, only self-consistent axiomatic systems can contain proofs. Everything else is requires applications of Occam's razor. Science finds the best description of things. Systems of epistemology shouldn't be ranked on how "true" the...

    The authority of the bible

So I've been reading Diarmaid MacCulloch's Christianity: The First Three Thousand Years. It's a very in depth history of the Faith, starting 1,000 years before Jesus with a history of Greek culture, Jewish Culture, and the Roman Empire. I'm finding it very interesting, especially how ideas...

    Poor does NOT equals LAZY

As some people pointed out, the poor in America often have a TV, air conditioning, a living space larger than most afforded to even the middle class of developing nations, and adequate food. However, access to quality education, and healthcare, are both very hard to come by for the poor. I...

Redemption for those who have already been saved

Hello, I'm looking for a little input and advice on two passages from 1 John, and Hebrews that my fiance has been having a very hard time with. She, unlike me, comes from a religious (Bapitist) background, and has been saved. Her worry is that the Scripture seems to be saying that a...

    My introduction

Hello everyone, A bit about myself. I'm a 25 year old man, and very new to the world of religion. My parents both grew up as Catholics in Brooklyn, NY, however they left the Church before I was born. I grew up attending a number of Catholic services, for First Communions, Christenings...
