  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

didactics, When did the concept of ANE begin? That might help you in your quest.

The ANE perspective on creation & am I fence sitting?

Language has nothing to do with it. God providing a revelation to someone, by definition would be in conflict with what they already know and think.

The ANE perspective on creation & am I fence sitting?

Even though your statement "ancient near east (ANE) interpretation of creation" is hypothetical....what does that have to do with Creation given to us in Genesis by Moses? Its not like he made Creation up...the information was given to him by God. Do you think God had a ancient near east...

    How old is the earth?

Very Good. Read what Moses and Paul say. They are the ones with real knowledge and they received their information directly from God. Their writings are very simple and clear. Very easy to understand

    How old is the earth?

It’s all very simple - and very easy to understand. Paul had no problem understanding the Gospel and thankfully neither do I

Good Lord - where does all this nonsense come from?

    How old is the earth?

You can sound quite idiotic when you take context out of a conversation. (thats a general statement - not directed to anyone individually) Creation was ~6000 years ago and took 6 days to complete - that is pretty amazing.

    How old is the earth?

Thankfully God took the guesswork out of it. God created the world ~6000 years ago and it took him 6 days to create the heaven and the earth...and all that is in them. Jesus died a little less than 2000 years ago - Matthew (to Abraham) and Luke (to Adam) both explained that creation was ~4000...

The answer is actually quite simple. They have no alternative thought on the matter. That bottleneck of the mind leads to fury

My point would be there is an unreasonable jump from any evidence to a Macro evolution conclusion

You agree that Jesus fed 5000+ people with 5 loaves and 2 fishes and had 12 baskets left over would imply ex nihilo?

    Evolution conflict and division

If "In the Beginning" you create a heaven and a earth - I'm comfortable with it inherently meaning ex nihilo - you can think otherwise. I think most people would understand that "In the Beginning" would mean "before there was anything". But you can think otherwise. and if Jesus fed 5000+ people...

    Evolution conflict and division

Scientists have documented a small percentage of animal species, with some estimates suggesting less than 20% of Earth's total species have been scientifically described. The vast majority, estimated to be about 86% of all species, remain undiscovered, and many are believed to be going extinct...
