  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yet another liberal protestor assaulted by conservative/tea partier

Washington Man Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Anti-Rossi Protester | TPMDC A 72-year-old man was arrested two weeks ago for allegedly assaulting a 23-year-old activist protesting Dino Rossi's Republican campaign for Senate in Washington state, according to local reports. The incident...

    Woman stomped outside Kentucky debate

Unfortunately tea partiers are not capable of reasoned discourse. Look at how much their debate tactics consist of who can yell the loudest. The unfortunate truth is that this incident will only inspire them more. There's a thread over at freerepublic where they're cheering this incident.

Sen. Scott Brown showing a more moderate face

As a liberal who used to live (but still frequently travels to) MA, i'm happy with Scott Brown's sensible left wing votes. I was afraid that he would be a rightwing teapartier.

Newsflash: There are no jobs, and the precious few that we have are being shipped oversees.

"It is a problem for America, but it is not necessarily a problem for business."

This will never happen. Capitalism is a race to the bottom.

Who really drives our economy - the wealthy or the working class?

Well, the wealthy are driving all of the working and middle class jobs away out of this country, that's for sure.

"It is a problem for America, but it is not necessarily a problem for business."

I've always said Clinton was one of our most rightwing presidents. He cut welfare and deregulated the financial industry as well.

"It is a problem for America, but it is not necessarily a problem for business."

Raising taxes on the rich to 1950's levels would be a start (and hey, conservatives pine for that period of time, so might as well include the tax rates from the same period, right?). If the rich are going to get massively richer at the detriment of the rest of America, that's really the first...

"It is a problem for America, but it is not necessarily a problem for business."

America’s two-speed economy | Journalist Profile | I wish more CEO's were honest like this. Most of the upper echelon of American society lie through their teeth and tell us that globalization was great for America as a whole. No, it was great for the richest 1% of this country, but...

Texas is a pretty corrupt state

I don't find it funny at all... the fact that they flaunt this, even on TV is pretty disgusting.

Scalia, Kennedy, and Thomas are basically comic book villains

Not surprising that they'd go soft on white collar crime, but check out the part i bolded/underlined. !!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me?

    Republican gubernatorial candidate a "raghead"

In a way, i applaud Knotts, because he's just saying what most southern white conservatives (which pretty much represent's the GOP's base) believe. Most conservatives usually hide their bigotry on the inside.

Stereotyping of U.S. Arab Population Must Cease

Tensions Flare Over Proposed Mosque on Staten Island - NYTimes.com Pay attention to the bolded portions. I find it ironic that the crowd loves a marine who served in afghanistan... until he starts trying to bridge muslims and help them integrate them into the community. <staff edit> Did...
