• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
• We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

An earth older then 10,000 years a simple proof challenge - for 50 blessings

Why I end up in these go-arounds is beyond me. I sometimes think its pointless. I will answer this briefly, and the rest at a later date. There is some limit to the rime I can dedicate to these forums. I wrote on this yesterday at...

An earth older then 10,000 years a simple proof challenge - for 50 blessings

This is sheer poppycock. Creationists fill major roles in almost every area of science. Ad homeniums to cover the lack of intellectual effort. I haven't read this report. I will. In the meantime, however, I'll retain my skepticism that its anything but the same old routine - select the dates...

An earth older then 10,000 years a simple proof challenge - for 50 blessings

Same old, same old. majority agree . . . rocks agree . . . datings agree . . . Little of which addresses the issue I raised. The majority of scientists is irrelevant, because the majority are seldom right - they majority of scientists used to think the earth was flat and that life came about...

A serious question to creationists

Then it might be that any response if futile. To take a leap of faith and assume that there is some evidence that might link Homo Sapiens with any other primate, the question has to then be How did this happen? So its not a matter of suspending just your belief system, but also your...

Why is the ground so flat?

Its to bad that you asked someone who obviously had faith without fact. The geological formations you are referring to were created by the ice age, which followed the flood, over a period of thousands of years, and in fact is still going on today. The oil, gas, etc have had plenty of time to...

An earth older then 10,000 years a simple proof challenge - for 50 blessings

You will note that the talkorigins formulaes make some assumptions based on facts not in evidence - the main flaw being a uniformitarian basis for C14 dating - something that most scince texts also assume, but is totally false, making the results meaningless. Any YEC will point out that on day...

An earth older then 10,000 years a simple proof challenge - for 50 blessings

This is an issue that I keep running up against - who says the YEC position is based on less than 10,000 years? centainly not the Bible. It is true, that one Bishop Usher (1580 - 1656) set up a chronology using an European mindset applied to the Semetic geneologies of the OT to come up with a...

Testimonies of Former Young Earth Creationists

I notice the list of people convinced in the other direction is rather empty. Did you do this on purpose, fearing it might destroy your conclusion, or do you simply not have a long list of those who have rejected the evolutionary timetable for a more Biblical one?

Testimonies of Former Young Earth Creationists

Almost right. Ushers's chonology was a rather sad attempt at dating the world, and full of contradictions, even assuming that he had taken the time to figure it out. His paradigm that a generation was the time from one man's birth til his first son's birth was a very european, not semetic...

The Monkey Trial: A Closer Look at Inherit the Wind

Looked at both sites -familiar with Barna's numbers as have used them for years. There's a chance you may have missed some of the implications. One I see is that many of those with low adherence standards are also people with low adherence standards to evolution - they have a foot in both...

how many YEC's Are there???

Just to give you some confort that everyone in the US isn't a creationist;) In the US "elite" its OK to question the government, but not OK to question Evolution; in the Chinese elite, its OK to question evolution, but not the government.

Whales and the Evolution of the Cow

What similarities in specific? And then again, maybe you'd like to explain why a harbour seal and a cat are so similar genetically? You think you have the intelligence to question a Mind capable of DNA coding the billions of organisms on earth today? quote: During an interview with Stanford...

Demski admits Intelligent Design is a religious position

You mistated his quote - Dark matter IS just a theory, used to explain how something happens because otherwise other phenomena have no explanation. It is purely theoretical, and not without its problems. The newest theory to accomodate the dark matter and dark energy theories is yet another...

Demski admits Intelligent Design is a religious position

The odds are obviously very close to 0 as the Wistar conference, among a multitude of others, has demonstrated. Thats a great article - I wonder how many of these fanatically religious Evys will actually read it? no point is destroying their faith . . .;)

Is evolution stupid?

I certainly don't agree;) But that's not why I posted. I was intrigued with your Karst post and can't find it. It seems (or at least I haven't found it) any way to search this site by words, subjects or authors, and posts with interesting and valuable information get lost in rabbit trails...
