  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What if death was in the world before Adam's sin

I think it it marvelous that I have been away from the forums for a long time, and log back in and find this thread. Just today I was having a discussing the importance of the Garden on the way home from a trip. You asked what is special outside the Garden, as opposed to what was inside. You...

Do you believe that atheists are evil?

I know this has more than likely been hashed and re-hashed. The definition of atheist is, "One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods." How in tarnation can this make someone evil? Like everyone here that has professed Salvation through Christ, we were atheist at one point in our...

    Is Remarriage Adultery

I imagine that this has been posted, but I wanted to add it :) Jesus told the woman at the temple that was taken in adultry, "when Jesus lifted up himself and saw no one but the woman, he said unto her, woman where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemn thee? She said, no man Lord. And...

    Is Remarriage Adultery

You guys type too fast. I was posting that I agree with you YahwehLove. Do I think that people get divorced in ignorance; you betcha. Do I think that God wants someone to live alone because they had an unfaithful spouse, NOPE. God created Eve to be a companion for Adam, because he didn't want...

    Is Remarriage Adultery

This is an interesting and oft debated question among all denominations I am sure. Paul also said, "who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: But I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief." (KJV, 1 Timothy 1:13) Paul should have been stoned for his crimes...

Why do you say 'Lord, Lord', and not do what I command?

You know, I have found this thread very stimulating. These are things that a lot of Christians ponder. I preach, yet I question my piety, I pray and question my motives, I thank God for Grace that has saved me. I honestly try and not wordsmith the scripture...I am not looking for the diamond in...

Why do you say 'Lord, Lord', and not do what I command?

Now that I have read the entire thread, it is interesting that you resort to semantics of scripture to defend what you have posted. I have found that a prayerful consideration seems to work well.

Why do you say 'Lord, Lord', and not do what I command?

I too think that if someone was attacking my family that I would respond in kind. Am I right? I am not sure, but I can find a tremendous amount of scriptural basis for what I know my actions would be. Does this mean I don't hold love in my heart? Absolutely not.
