  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

tithing - for today or not

Tithing was for the Israelites. No mention of tithing being a requirement of the Christian in the New Testament.

    Is masturbation a sin?

I would say yes it is a sin. I believe the lustful thoughts precede masturbation. I think it's impossible to touch without lustful thoughts. This is just another example of our hopeless sinful condition. Thanks to Jesus for washing our sins away!

    Tithing

I personally believe tithing was for the Israelites. Not a requirement for new testament believers. We should give as a matter of the heart and not out of obligation!

    A question

I believe the Bible is our guide. I don't believe it word for word. for instance, Ive never heard tongues in any church. If I ever did, it''s just gibberish unless someone interprets.

Why did you leave the Baptist Church?

I am turned off by churches that say lack of tithing is robbing God. I don't believe tithing is supported by New Testament Christianity. I believe tithing was specifically for the Israelites for the support of the Levites. Not that I believe giving is not needed, but it is now a matter of the...

    Christmas and Holidays ?

I assume that celebrating Christmas would not be scriptural. I don't believe that a celebration of the birth of Christ is mentioned in scripture. Does that have any significance for Jehovah Witnesses not celebrating Christmas? My family has always celebrated Christmas, but my thinking is that...
