    In order to know religious truths, our children must first reject our beliefs and assumptions. Allowing our children to grow into fully functioning humans is our only job as parents! We should not fear their ability to question or doubt us...for this is merely a sign of our job well done.

    You are right. Quality information about binge-eating disorder is scarce. You might have more luck finding books about bulimia, which is basically just binge-eating disorder in disguise. Unfortunately, that is also a misunderstood disorder, so the most common form...the non-purging type)...

    There are other forms of life whom we do not consider to be "rational"...and yet they know things about the world...things we can't know. How do you suppose they are led to knowledge? By way of reason? Instinct? Faith? Perhaps something else? Maybe the human capacity for rationality hinders...

    Wrong....The fireman should have saved the little girl...(but let's assume that was not an option.) If toddpianoworks is honestly a radical utilitarian, he would have chosen to sacrifice himself, forcing the fireman to save the embryos.

    The emphasis on political parties in america deeply disturbs me...(especially the democrat vs. republican dichotomy). I forfeit my american "right" to vote...to avoid reinforcing an imbalanced system.

    Maybe that difference is only a matter of words. The negative versions are equally sufficient, in my opinion. For instance, if i was drowning, i would not want you to ignore me or refuse to help...so i would not ignore you, or refuse to help.
