  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Making Peace with XBFF

GuusVa, thanks for your reply and empathy. I've accepted that the friendship is over (unless God has some wild plan for us, which I'm not holding my breath on, but you really never know) and I've been blessed to become surrounded by a community of new friends at the church I've been attending...

    Making Peace with XBFF

Reflecting on Matthew 5:22-24... "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment... Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the...

    Keeping old friendships

Also, this all happened right after my wedding, and she was my maid of honor. And now I cry and get upset all over again about our lost friendship when I look at our wedding photos and DVD. Thanks for ruining memories of what is supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life.

    Keeping old friendships

thank you for your advice & comments, and especially your prayers. I am definitely aware that God probably planned this to help me stay on his path. I just wish that weren't the case, for the sake of being able to save her and our friendship. It also annoys me that she won't talk to me. I just...

    Keeping old friendships

I'm looking forward to meeting new Christian friends as I get more involved at church (moved a few months ago) but I'm saddened that I'm having trouble staying in touch with old friends. 1) my interests are different since becoming a Christian and 2) don't live nearby anymore. Additionally I...

"What is Sin?" reflecting on book of Romans

:) That's what I try to do! Sometimes my brain has a fight with what he's telling me though and I try to interpret something the way I want to, and not the way it is. One of the biggest thing Christians (whether luke-warm or full-on) struggle with I think--kinda goes along with that passage in...

"What is Sin?" reflecting on book of Romans

Hupomone- I suppose that last post was actually a response to what you asked Raze. and answer to your other question, I suppose I'd sum up my initial post with the question, "What is sin & how has Jesus affected the Old Law?" I've been talking to a chaplain on another board and he's given some...

"What is Sin?" reflecting on book of Romans

Raze- I believe that tends to be the pattern of Paul's scriptures, from what I learned during the sermon. I'll have another listen when I get home and see what the pastor said about Romans 6-8. Without the aid of a pastor, my interpretation of the one, main message from the 3 chapters would be...

"What is Sin?" reflecting on book of Romans

We had sort of a "crash course" in Romans at church last weekend, which was really good, and inspired me to do further research in Romans. You can listen to the sermon here: www bendigobaptist.org.au/media/jukebox//2010-05-30%20pm%20-%20Malcolm%20Gill.mp3 (paste into address bar & remove space)...

    G'day!

I'm nearly 23 years old but my birthday is September 27th 2009 :amen: I joined this community because I figured it would be better than Yahoo Answers when I have a question about God! I grew up in NJ and am now living in Australia with my fiance and his family. One of the reasons I'm...

    Tattoos?

I've been trying to figure out if it's against God's Will for Christians to get tattoos? I'm familiar with the verse in Leviticus about cutting flesh, but it's still ambiguous to me. Looking into the chapter, and reading other people's theology, it seems to be talking about Pagan rituals...
