  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Teaching an 8-year-old...HELP!

Hey guys! I just started teaching last week, and I have two students, a 40-year-old and an 8-year-old. =P I'm having to completely rethink my strategy for teaching for this young girl, her hands are so small and cannot form the complete chords yet. She has a smaller guitar, so that's not a...

    This... is my BOOMSTICK!

I myself am looking at getting a SIG P229 once I get my concealed carry license. My mom, dad, and boyfriend all have their license, and I seriously feel safe having them around. Guns are awesome and great protection when used in the right context.

Towards A Kinder, Gentler, truly CHRISTIAN Forum

True. I do agree that anywhere you go there's never going to be complete satisfaction as a Christian. God knows I've seen my fair share of churches slamming each other. Still, I wish that Christians would be a little more like Christ and a little less what the world says we are.

Towards A Kinder, Gentler, truly CHRISTIAN Forum

I'm rather disgusted at the state of CF myself. I signed up for this site because I thought it would be a great place to have a decent discussion with people, help them out, become stronger in the faith and fellowship with other believers. Instead I've seen more backbiting and slamming among...

    Female Pastors?

Personally I think that if a woman is called by God to be a pastor, then she should obey that. I think it's different for every situation. Paul also said that women are not supposed to speak in church, and yet that doesn't happen today. Back then women were put into a lower class because of...

Worship Leaders : Are you paid?

You make my day, LeadWorship!! I'm glad there's someone out there that is another worship leader that UNDERSTANDS why worship leaders need to be paid. The average churchgoer walks into sunday morning service, sings a few songs, then wonders, "Why are we paying them to do that??" But there...

    Masons less Christian than??.............

My boyfriend is a Freemason, and has answered all the questions I had about it. Anyone who says that Masons worship anything is completely ignorant and has probably gotten their information off of some anti-Masonic website. Mason is NOT a religion, and it actually began as a Christian...

What if old people complain about worship being "too loud"?

I was under the impression this thread was about what to do when someone complains about the noise level in church. The whole decibel thing [which I learned recently that we keep it under 90 db, which is not near damage level at all] was because you cannot make everyone happy. I do think...

What if old people complain about worship being "too loud"?

I never said it was supposed to be over 110. Actually I think it's like 90 decibels should be the limit. I think to have a comfortable service bands should keep it under the 90 db mark. True, we are supposed to esteem others above ourselves. But the truth is, and I know this from personal...

    Dekker or Peretti?

I LOVE Ted Dekker...his Circle trilogy is amazing. I go back a little further with Dekker, back when he did Blessed Child with Bill Bright. Incredible. His past books like Thunder from Heaven, all those, are just amazing and I love them.

What if old people complain about worship being "too loud"?

Hey! While I do agree that it's AWESOME to just crank up the bass and let the guitars go nuts, I also agree that it's difficult to worship when your ears bleed haha. What our church does, is we have this little device, not very expensive, that you hold in your hand and point towards the band...
