  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Eve and the Fallacy of Moral Choices

And you’re ineluctably wrong. I have debunked your proposition Eve lusted for the fruit and she and Adam were created by God with “prepackaged” faults and/or flaws. At NO TIME EVER IN ANY POST have I disputed the above in relation to the sinful condition we inherited after and because of A and...

What is the meaning of Total Depravity?

There’s not a single verse or combination of verses that declare your propositions above. None! Undoubtedly you will cite to verses that do not explicitly declare your proposition and you’ll resort to some modicum of textual exegesis. However, if such exegesis is devoid of any analysis of the...

Eve and the Fallacy of Moral Choices

Of course not, you must ignore the different meanings for Lust and Desire for your misinterpretation to survive. Yet, you’ve no evidence they mean the same and they do not. Rather, you appeal to the Humpty Dumpty logic of “Alice in Wonderland.” “When I use a word, it means just what I choose...

Eve and the Fallacy of Moral Choices

My eyes read the Hebrew and the Hebrew for lust isn’t used in relation to Eve. I’ve made a Herculean of the logical, identify the Hebrew word used, discern its meaning, use a Lexicon and Bible dictionary, and conclude the Hebrew text isn’t using the word “list.” Maybe your “eyes” need to focus...

Eve and the Fallacy of Moral Choices

No Sisyphean effort is required. Rather, logic, sound reasoning, rational exegesis, proper application and use of hermeneutics, adherence to what the text says and doesn’t say, is the illumination. Indeed, membership into Mensa, IQ of 130 or higher, isn’t a prerequisite to “connect the dots.”...

Eve and the Fallacy of Moral Choices

Yes. This is a product of our sinful nature, our sinful flesh. Yet, while I concur, I disagree with your claims regarding A and E. A difficulty addressing your position is the ambiguity of the meaning of some phrases. For example, what does “lawlessness was already at work within both...

What is the meaning of Total Depravity?

For goodness sakes, that poster didn’t say “totally.” Your replies are to Strawman Mara and the poster you replied to wit this “totally” nonsense. This logic ignores that humans can, will, and want to exercise “totally free” to sin. That humans “totally free” choose not to live “sinlessly.”...

What is the meaning of Total Depravity?

I understand you’ve misconstrued what Jesus is recorded to have said. John never used your unique phraseology of morally free.” Never mind that the phrase “morally free” is ambiguous as to meaning. More importantly is you ignore the entire phrase of the verse. The Greek is those “who...

What is the meaning of Total Depravity?

Yes, @Clare73 added qualifing language of “unfettered” in relation to “free will” that you’ve never invoked! In other words, her reply is wrapped up in a reply to an argument you never espoused, “unfettered” free will. Ostensibly, she’s superimposed her own notions or perhaps someone else’s...

What is the meaning of Total Depravity?

You are incorrectly equivocating “make all moral choices” with “cannot choose to be sinless.” People can make all moral choices and will choose to perform at least 1 immoral act and do so freely. Next, what’s up with the “totally” qualifier? Mara didn’t take such a position and ostensibly...

What is the meaning of Total Depravity?

The Koine Greek for the word “slave” is “doulos.” A Lexicon illuminates both Biblical and non-Biblical use of the Koine Greek word was literal and metaphorical. So, Jesus wasn’t necessarily using the word “doulos” or “slave” literally. Equally ambiguous is your assumption Jesus did use the word...

What is the meaning of Total Depravity?

Edifying but doesn’t unequivocally demonstrate an inability to come to Jesus. Every sinner that comes to Jesus has such a heart. To establish “inability” ineluctably from the Bible demands a verse that states an inability exists. John 6:44 does so. “No one can come to me unless the Father who...

What is the meaning of Total Depravity?

Total Inability to “come to Jesus” by their own free will. John 6:44 “No one can come to Me, unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up the last day.” So, no one is free to decide to “come to Jesus.” Everyone must be made “able to come to Jesus” by the “drawing” of the...

"Under Title X of the US Code, the President has plenary authority..."

Does the Constitution, minus amendments for the moment, use the word “rebellion”? You assume yes the word does appear in the Constitution, but have you investigated whether the word does? The word “rebellion” doesn’t appear in the Constitution. The word “rebellion” appears in Section 3 of the...

Should Trump have been banned from running for president?

Those actions and occurrences do not constitute as insurrection under the 14th Amendment. The 14th Amendment Section 3, “insurrection” was in response to Southern States secession from the Union, and the abolishment of federal government laws and their enforcement within their collective and...
