  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The literal bible (good title I guess)

Thanks so much for all the help folks. I have been convinced on this forum to become a Christian and now that it is a better idea not to be. See you in another 8 years when the spirit might move me. Edit: Just to add, I believe in freedom and I thought this may fit me. It seems it don't and...

My personal journey (the way it has to be)

Nearest place that would separate this issue would be at least an hour away. I would not be able to do 2 hours of driving every Sunday.

The literal bible (good title I guess)

I am not an Israelite It would be a disgrace to do otherwise: 1 Corinthians 11:3–16 3 But I want you to understand that dthe head of every man is Christ, ethe head of a wife1 is her husband, and fthe head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered...

The literal bible (good title I guess)

Your right, I don't and I believe firmly in that. But, you cannot walk around and say you believe something and not stand for what it teaches. That is life. I can't say I am a doctor and not hold a degree or I can't say I'm a cook and burn boiling water. Here is where the problem lies, you...

Things have changed. I am a Christian now.

My personal journey (the way it has to be)

Southern Baptist is really big here. There are some non-denominational churches but they are the ones that kicked the young lady I was talking about out. It's a bad situation here. I really think I have no choices. We are banks, churches and dollar stores. The banks and churches run...

My personal journey (the way it has to be)

Good day all, I have joined this forum a long time ago, but I am new. First post about a week ago. Here is what I have to do to remain on the Christian path. I am a very "political" person. When I say "political" I don't mean politics (although I am active on political forums). What I mean is...

The literal bible (good title I guess)

Jesus never commands us to judge. Let's look at the verses: Matthew 7:1- Judge not, that you be not judged If you judge, you receive the same judgement you cast Matthew 7:2- For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back...

The literal bible (good title I guess)

Now I am a fool for wanting a verse or verses to prove your standpoint? Unbelievable. I am truly done going back and forth with you. My post count is something that is not important to me (look when I joined). So I am moving along with Gods word in my hands and the truths it presents...

The literal bible (good title I guess)

That's fine then. But maybe for future reference you should be prepared when you call someone out and tell them they are wrong to be asked why they are wrong (as I have asked for verses). I had no interest in arguing with you, all I wanted was if I was wrong proof that I was wrong to know my...

The literal bible (good title I guess)

But lacking the ability to prove someone wrong is not proving them wrong. You have proven nothing. You have simply said. Do you want me to prove how a gasoline engine works? I would post links. You done nothing. So you called out how I was wrong and yet proven nothing.

The literal bible (good title I guess)

Thank you for this. You made me look at things in a different light. I don't have to be a "verbal doormat" as that is probably wrong in my book. Instead I should have probably used the word of God to point him to the correct places. I think David may have done that. Anger gets me nowhere and...

The literal bible (good title I guess)

You said I used my original post out of context. You said the bible has many verses that tell us otherwise but refuse to furnish those verses. So, you indeed said the bible somewhere tells us to judge, but the bible does not without your proof that you refuse to furnish. So all my context posts...

The literal bible (good title I guess)

I never apologized? I have studied this over night and we still have no right to judge. In the context I used in the original post, a Christian has no biblical right to say a group of people needs military action as a group and to prescribe them death. What right a Christian does have...
