  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Albion, thanks for the kind reply. I've actually started checking out other groups. I have two others to check (a nondenominational and a Mennonite), so hopefully we'll find a home soon. God bless.

Looking to go back to church ....

Thank you for the kind reply. I would be curious about your experiences with the Mennonite Church. As to grace, I agree that God's grace is for us all. However, that doesn't mean we ignore sin. A lax attitude pervaded the church and all kinds of immorality was simply allowed. Doing so makes a...

Looking to go back to church ....

Hello. I have a question, or rather a situation that perhaps can be discussed. First a little background: I was raised Roman Catholic, but left that faith in my early 20s. I began to study the Bible heavily in that time, came to faith, and decided to convert to Protestantism. I became a member...
