  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    About healing.

Scripture tells us what his will is. Also, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Similarly, Mark 11:24 says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." There are more. We explain...

Those who believe in healing, gifts etc

When I read scripture, I clearly see that the gifts are for today. I believe that Jesus taught healing by faith although I disagree with what kind of faith most charismatic churches teach. I don't want to discuss whether or not the gifts are for today. I know where I stand on that point. My...

On Trump's 2025 Plan, if he gets re-elected as president

Ugh This isn't Trump's plan. Really wish people would stop spreading false information. He himself has denied any part in it as has the Heritage Foundation that put it together. It's a recommendation put together by 100 delegates. Nothing more. This isn't his plan. I'm not a Trump fan. Just...

For those that believe healing is in the atonement

I am and thus far, this is where I believe I've been led. I used to be on the other side of this argument.

For those that believe healing is in the atonement

He never said that a his thorn was from God. It clearly states that it was a messenger of Satan. Where do you get that it was God? Let's examine where else thorn is used in scripture. Numbers 33:55 "But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that...

For those that believe healing is in the atonement

I disagree. It's a matter of taking all of what Pauld did and said into account and thus ending up with the most logical conclusion. One must consider all of scripture. Imo, the truth of what he said is very clear and obvious. No offense, but I'm already well aware of the lense you view...

The practice of healing and working of miracles

I agree with everything you said. I'm just not sure that Paul had a pride issue. We are told that pride comes before a fall. Why would the enemy care if Paul had an issue with pride? We have several verses that tell us that God does exalt his people. Peter 5:6 "Humble yourselves therefore...

For those that believe healing is in the atonement

Where I currently stand, I don't believe Paul had an illness. There are other uses of the word thorn in scripture. But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides...

For those that believe healing is in the atonement

Pretty much. I see it as for today in scripture. I'm finding it in the writings of the early church. I'm just not seeing it in my life or those around me. I have a disease that is considered incurable and will lead to me needing a transplant, possibly two. I have believed in healing but just...

For those that believe healing is in the atonement

What are your thoughts on believers who do search the scriptures for healing and believe that it is for today, yet still don't see the healing?

For those that believe healing is in the atonement

I was reading some writings from the early church today. I found this which was written by Irenaeus. He was a disciple of Polycarp who was a disciple of the apostle John. I want to share a snippet of what I found. The second part is what I found to be most interesting. "Again, while they...

For those that believe healing is in the atonement

Paul’s teachings speak highly of persecution. Even his thorn in the flesh had to do with persecution. I know that you don't see the things that Jesus said as for us, but Jesus never spoke of illness in a positive light nor that it is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of...

Currently, I see that as speaking of persecution.

Are there limits to what healing we can receive?

For starters, Job wasn't under aby covenant with God at the time. We are today thoigg Yeah I think what you said definitely has something to do with it. I just can't help but feel as if most have taken "in his time" too far and thus have become complacent.

Are there limits to what healing we can receive?

Many people have misunderstood what Paul was saying with regard to the subject of the thorn in the flesh from 2 Cor. 12. Let's take a fresh look at this and begin with what Paul said. "And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a...
