  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Cafeteria Catholics

geocajun Thanks for the book: I'll definatly look into it since one day I may have to make a personal decision about them (heh heh, although it seems to me that I'll never get married lo). And we're definatly in agreement about premartial sex being a grave sin - which is why I mentioned that I...

Virgin Mary in Chicago (w/ pictures)

I don't really see it.. seems like a long shot. Actually, the pic makes me think of the show "Night Court" when everyone thought there was a religious image on a subway or basement wall but it ended up being (after much cleaning) to be a mural of Willie Nelson. :-P

    Cafeteria Catholics

I have a question about being a "buffet Catholic". Plain and simply, I LOVE being Catholic, love Mass, love the firm foundation in Tradition and everything... but I don't believe contraceptives are sinful. That's the only thing I disagree with. Am I considered a "buffet Catholic"? *I'm...

Is St Peter reeeally buried in the Vatican??

Well is he?? I know that people *say* he's buried under the Bascillica but is he reeeeeally there, or is it just folklore? I mean, are we *sure* he is there? Has his remains ever been dug up? I'm asking this because I really want to know out of pure curiousity. I just am amazed that theeeeee...

    These ideas of change.....

I have to wonder how much of this "change hype" is just part of the nature of the media??? Think of it: what a great story to beat to death then to hook people with a sense of rebellious history in the making? What better way to keep viewers on edge and watching your program or reading your...

    GOOD/inspiring things about PJ2's Death..

There may be a thread already on this but.. I'm pretty tired of hearing peole bash the Pope for his stance on women and all that meh meh meh (arrrr). So I was wondering if people here would be willing to share stories of how the Pope's death is actually helping others come to faith or perhaps...

New Discovery that may change the way we look at history!!!

I can't believe I feel for that article! I kept re-reading the beginning sentences, trying to figure out what on earth the journalist was trying to get at... why he kept calilng them "skeleton people" rather than "human remains".. yeeeesh, I'm so naive at times. lol That article has me...

    Someone Please Save this Kneeler!

Perhaps we should be praying that *no one* buys it?? Just a thought, but can you imagine if the seller is "stuck" with it --- seeing it day by day- ---- the optimist in me would love him to actually USE it!!

    Why the Cross? (cute question)

Thank you for all who replied to my question (sorry it's taken me so long to post btw: I had a friend visit me, therefore, had little internet time). thereselittleflower I like your analogy between the Cross and the Brass serphant-- I can't believe I missed that! (didn't realize it). I'm just...

    Why the Cross? (cute question)

I've been thinking all about the Passion and all that Christ endured... and then I was thinking about how he truly must have been at death's door when he was forced to carry His cross to the place of the skull (Ge---something something  ). Any "normal" human being would have died long...

    I suddenly feel very ill...

Just a little rant--> I can't stand people/groups/etc that stress "tolerance" and all that political non-sense yet do they tolerate Christianity? Rarely. Bah. Nice double standard. And I bet your mayor talks all about tolerance too, huh? Bah X2
