  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Maybe? You are not sure if that is your reason? Why post in this thread in the first place if not for discussion? I can only speculate that your reason for not wanting to reply is either a result of admitting to yourself that you do not understanding the complexities, or a desire to not even...

None of this addresses anything I said.

So what you're saying is that people that take your stance will miss the point completely despite it being handed to you on a platter? Look at the line of words that you use. Considering the number of people that feel the issue is not as clear as you do that should be at least a sign that the...

    Mr. Atheist Introduction

Yeah, I understand. Semantics really. I chose the word "claim" but in retrospect I appreciate that the meaning is a bit more flexible than I had intended. And thanks for the welcomes all. Surprised to see this thread dug up all of a sudden =)

That's really quite brutal, and sad. I'm sorry to hear that. I wonder how many anti-abortionists are also opposed to socialized health care. How about you allhart? I really hope that the the US population realizes that they aren't just pawns to politics but that if they actually stood up...

Thank you for being the example of what my post was about. This type of reluctance to discuss a topic or separate the issues is 100% contradictory to you seeing any progress on any of the 3 fronts. You are the demonstration of why people that 'want' to discuss something like abortion are just...

I seriously wonder... How many babies would not get aborted with a socialized health care system? How many babies that fail to come to life, kids that die young, people that die old all as a result of your failed health care system? This doesn't eliminate the abortion discussion, but I wonder...

I should also note, allhart, that the reason for my post was not to promote stem cell research, but to promote that it is a different discussion and that there deserves to be 3 discussions that should not be tied together. I hope that this was clear in the original writing.

So instead of learning from it, you're suggesting we should just throw them in the trash can? These are not life-to-be. Are they really more qualified as life than the countless sperm that die in each [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]?

Please be more specific. Are you talking about stem cell research? Is that the "platform of death" that you are talking about?

I don't understand. What are you specifically talking about?

Wow that's crazy stuff...we had a very active midwife with a lot of hours of education and care during pregnancy, delivered baby, and like 20 or so hours of post-delivery help and didn't spend a penny due to it being provincially covered / licensed. As for the insurance...how much of it do they...

What does it cost to have a baby versus an abortion? Different from place to place I assume, but any idea of a range?

The first comment on the entry was kind of unexpected and bugs me that I didn't consider it, but I'd love more elaboration on it from more people. He touched on the topic of people not being able to afford the delivery so the abortion becomes an option. This isn't a thought that would cross my...

Hi all, I know this topic gets its head beaten in a lot around here but I just wrote this up on a whim and thought I would get some commentary on it. Feel free to skip the whole quoting and replying section if you don't want a long read, it's kind of pointless. I look forward to some...
