Tolkien's LOTR CS Lewis' Narnia Chronicles, space trilogy, Till We Have Faces, and other books George MacDonald's Phantastes and the Curdie books Dostoevsky's Brothers Karamazov and Dr. Seuss' Sleep Book (usually to someone) :) -
