  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

MSNBC floating Theory Trump supporting cops may have framed Smollett

Considering MSNBC and the rest of the mainstream outlets latched onto this actor's lies as ironclad fact, that they are giving voice to such a person is really nothing more than a futile attempt to save face. They parroted the lies, have done so repeatedly and shamelessly, and are using this...

MSNBC floating Theory Trump supporting cops may have framed Smollett

It's called "fake news" for a reason.

    Schuyler Canterbury KJV

I just got my Schuyler Quentel calfskin NKJV in the mail, it's absolutely beautiful. I love it! And this Canterbury looks incredible as well, the text is beautiful.

Eclipse 2019 prophecy: Will the world end on January 22? SHOCK Blood Moon Bible reveal

I'm reasonably certain the world isn't going to end on the 22nd. At least I hope not, the local ale house is doing renovations/improvements for the past week and is going to reopen on the 23rd. It'd be a bummer if the world ended the day before, they have great chicken wings.

Which Bible Version is closest to the original Hebrew and Greek Texts?

That's why I ordered a copy of the NKJV, I wanted a Bible in contemporary English that used the TR. I'm pretty sure the NRSV I read uses the Critical Text. I was able to get a Thomas Nelson Premier Edition NKJV off of Amazon for $65, the sticker on that Bible is $149! I'm pretty excited...

Which Bible Version is closest to the original Hebrew and Greek Texts?

If there's one thing I've learned over time while searching for the "best" English translation, it's that there isn't one. Searching and stressing over it is only going to give you a headache. I've read the KJV, NRSV, and I have a copy of the NKJV on it's way to my house. After that I'll pick...

Why so many fake Christians who sin blatantly?

How is it harsh? The original poster went a judgemental rant, condemning people who succumb to sin and vices. Really, his post was one of the least Christian things said in this thread.

Why so many fake Christians who sin blatantly?

I've read the Bible multiple times and am familiar with the scripture you have quoted. I'm not sure what your post means, though. Are you calling me a hypocrite? Are you suggesting the original poster is a hypocrite?

Why so many fake Christians who sin blatantly?

Given the vitriol and anger of your post, it could be argued that many of the people you're condemning are probably still leading a more pious life than you.

    Are Study Bibles Really Needed?

I have one, the "New Interpreters Study Bible", based on the NRSV translation. I like it, but I'm not sure if it's something that is necessary. I look at it as adding an extra interpretation to my own in certain parts. It's also interesting to see what other people think.

    Am I Born Again?

I don't believe that being born again is accomplished by acts so much as by faith. Sounds like you've got it figured out. Get baptized by water, it will be a great feeling. In the meantime, enjoy life and your faith.

    Question for ex-atheists

There was a point in my 20's when I could have described myself as an atheist, or at the very least, agnostic. What changed? I discovered that at the bottom of the atheist rabbit hole is nothing. Literally, nihilism and misery. You can see it in a lot of atheists - there's a sneering...

What can be done to avoid civil war?

You're right, the differences aren't regional, and as much as the media tries to spin the "red state/blue state" narrative, that's hogwash as well. It's almost more of a "rural vs. urban" type of divide, but even that's simplifying things. I think it could possibly look like what happened in...

What can be done to avoid civil war?

There isn't going to be a civil war in America, at least not like the first American civil war. What we will probably see are cranked up leftists/communists committing bombings and acts of violence like in the late 60's and early 70's. Instead of the Weather Underground and Symbionese...

Fight over Kavanaugh Proves the Supreme Court Has Become Too Powerful

It's arguably not powerful enough. Rulings are handed down, states ignore the rulings, lawsuits are filed, and circuit courts uphold what the states have done, which contradicts what the Supreme Court said.
