  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why are the Quakers in the Anabaptist forum?

I was hoping to find the more conservative friends, but I tend to find very liberal ones, those who consider God to be more of an idea than a reality. I expected there to be a larger number on an international forum. I thought there would be a sizeable number in America. Might the American...

Are Christian gay couples given the same leniency as Christian Profanity users?

The sex drive is natural, but we can control it, partially. One way is to marry and confine it to that single relationship. How many homosexuals do you know? Apart from their natural tendency to prefer their own sex, I find them to be no different than the rest of us. They are no more immoral...

Why are the Quakers in the Anabaptist forum?

Why are the Quakers lumped into the Anabaptist forum? Historically they were never linked to the Anabaptist movement, although they may share some aspects of faith in respect of peacekeeping et al. Is it possible to have a separate forum? Within Quakerism there is a broad range of...

    Truth or Faith

Nice one. Where can we get this understanding from? I seek to understand in order to believe. "I believe in order to understand." said Augustine. I tend to reason from our existence. Where did we come from? We are not just random, the Universe is ordered not just arbitary, there has to be...

Are Christian gay couples given the same leniency as Christian Profanity users?

Linus 98 That is not actually what I meant, I wasn't talking of burning in hell, I meant why can't he "marry" (I use the term loosely) one partner. To deny a homosexual person any physical relationship with the person he loves is to make him "burn". Is it not better for him to "marry"...

Are Christian gay couples given the same leniency as Christian Profanity users?

God hates divorce too. We don't condemn that much these days though. On the whole homosexuality issue though as ThePrimeDirective is trying to get us to debate, should we condemn a Christian homosexual relationship? From Leviticus we get the outright condemnation of homosexuality but this...

    Tithing: HELP!

I'm sorry you are bored with this thread. Come back in 10 years when you have gone through even worse times. When you have married, had kids, been through unemployment, where your income plunges to a tenth of what it was before. When you have really have had to consider tithing or eating. After...

    Tithing: HELP!

Experience tells me otherwise. The only income I have is a student loan and some gifts and an overdraft. If I tithe on this income, I would have insufficient funds to even get to college. I also have a wife and family to support. Should I let them starve or sell our home in order to pay...

    Tithing: HELP!

I expect its because "oh my gosh" is a derivitive of "oh my God" which is a mild expletive not worthy of Christians.

What Happens When a Christian Dies?

I have my own theory that when we die we will then be in Eternity with all those who God has called in an instant. It will be a joyous occasion as we will all be together. It is outside of time, Christians who have already died are not there before us. They arent waiting for us. Its only in our...

    Church Leadership

To want to be an Elder is a good thing. Do you desire to be an Elder? Don't let anyone exclude you because of your gender. What do you do as part of your current ministry? If you are serving in some capacity then you are doing Christian Ministry. Let God lead you and if he is calling you to...

    Tithing: HELP!

At the risk of offending the tithers, I would council don't tithe. I'm a mature student myself and I know how tough it is to get by. The principle is not a percentage (10%) its an agreement between you and God. You can't buy God's blessing with your tithe. He loves you the same even if you...

    Healing: What can we believe?

We claim healing in Jesus name and we still see people die. Why is that? Some claim "by his stripes we are healed". The Scripture does not say what is implied. Healing is not from the atonement. Claim your "healing says another" Healing is a gift from God as and when he chooses. So why do...
