  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did the Apostles break the Kosher Laws

Thanks for this great response! (Torah's posts too!). I'm glad to see Paul wasn't asking Peter to brake the law...(!!). I'm also interested on your thoughts regarding these 'Judaizers messing with Peter's head, saying that G-d was requiring people to convert to Judaism first'. Are you saying...

    Circumcision

Sorry. Your statement "gentiles didn't have to undergo a rabbinical conversion - they just needed to keep torah." is very true to me. However now i see that we have different definitions of "keeping Torah". For me, Torah = Sinai covenant for Jacob's tribe, and Noachic covenant for Gentiles...

    Circumcision

Hello Daniel, thanks for your response and for quoting scripture! On the topic of participating in the Passover, i believe the mitzva applies to gentiles who are resident aliens in the land. They are commanded to circumcise if they want to participate in the passover. My take is that gentiles...

    Circumcision

Greetings Daniel, I would agree with Wags' response. My view is that Paul is not saying "circumcision isn't a commandment of God" (which would be untrue of course), but rather Paul is saying that "circumcision isn't a commandment for Gentiles". Notice that Paul also said to the gentiles: 'IF...

    Circumcision

Indeed. The above are all injunctions that Torah specifies for gentile foreigners in the land of Israel. Still, there is nothing that I can see where Torah is asking gentiles to follow any of the Sinai commandments (except when a gentile is residing in the land of Israel, and even in that case...

    Circumcision

TNK says that Ger Toshav (sojourners, aliens and strangers living in the land of Israel) are compelled to obey certain laws (but those are a few very specific laws and never is circumcision included). Are you saying that by accepting Moschiach a Gentile becomes a "virtual"...

    Circumcision

Is there anywhere in the Torah (TNK) where it talks about "acceptance of Moshiach resulting in adoption into the nation of Yisrael" ? I have never heard of that. I'm sure there is plenty that talks about the Goyim recognizing YHWH as their only God, but nothing about the Goyim becoming Jews just...

    Circumcision

Hello, I think that Paul would never say "wait a while" because the Torah never says that the commandments given thru Abraham and Moses are applicable the other nations (goyim). The only thing that the Torah prescribes for Righteous goyim is the covenant thru Noach, which does not include...

    Circumcision

If I may, I would say that even if one takes the point of view that all followers of Jesus should follow the commandments of the Torah, the Torah itself never prescribes Circumcision for all Nations. The only laws that Torah talks about for Gentiles are those given thru Noach. In support of this...
