  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Evolution as a theory of creation is a JOKE

Hi adimus You don't know me -- I was hanging around here for a while but haven't been back for several months. Basically I got a bit tired of the same old fallacies, AV's puerile sophistry, drive-by PRATTs, etc etc, and I couldn't really afford to waste the time. But someone [you know who you...

Charles Darwin to receive apology from the Church of England for rejecting evolution

Belk, this is more for you than AV, but... (Emphasis mine, obviously.) The post-cleansing offering instructions start in verse 10. Before that it sounds a whole lot like a cleansing ritual. Now, it could be that the KJ translation makes it sounds that way, but it's not really supposed to...

Charles Darwin to receive apology from the Church of England for rejecting evolution

Of course not. And neither are Catholics, who were to blame for the whole Galileo thing. (I'm pretty sure Independent Fundamentalist Baptists get everything right.)

    nose evolution

But what about Don't forget that ZOMG! Take that, evilutionists! I hope nobody conducts an experiment to throw random crap into a wind tunnel and observe that the resulting flow is not simply laminar or turbulent... But where would we be without some good quote mining? Oh, and...

Humperdink: And then my ears, I suppose. I understand -- let's get on with it. Westley: Wrong! Your ears you keep, and I'll tell you why...

    nose evolution

The shortening of human tongues is a result of The Fall. Duh. And as someone who had to have the inside of his nose cauterized as a child, I can assure you that mine is not intelligently designed. Or maybe weak nasal blood vessels are a result of The Fall.

    Evolution = Athiesm

Best not to think about them. Just a general statement of good policy  Anyway... Not that I'm an atheist (yet! -- give you evilutionists time and I'm sure you'll have me worshipping nature and loving teh gayz soon enough), but evolution has shaped my theology. And I guess many would...

    Facts for evolutionists

Exactly. This point needs to be stressed when this issue comes up. Remember when AV "challenged" us to write the "pi=3" verse? Several people did it just fine (AV didn't realize it, of course, but I think someone may have finally got it through to him) precisely by leaving off the...

    Endogenous Retroviruses

That's 17.3 kinds of superwin. And since the derail has been derailed, can I just add: who else thinks that Endogenous Retrovirus would make an awesome Asterix name (Roman, obviously -- I'm thinking some kind of secret agent)?

    Facts for evolutionists

Part The Second: I don't think I've said you were. If I did, or you interpreted anything I said that way, then I apologize. (Your replies aren't targeted, so...) Nope. Heard this attempted ad hoc before, but it fails. The "molten sea" is ten cubits from one brim to the other and 30 cubits...

    Facts for evolutionists

Wow, turn your back for 1 second* and see what happens... *well, a time equal to the accumulation of a large number of 1 second increments ;) There's much to respond to here, but most of the biology has been well covered already, so I'll limit myself to those areas more aligned with my...

    Facts for evolutionists

Wow, that's some pretty spectacular point-missing there, chief. Still, I shouldn't expect someone who believes the world was created complete in 6 "days" to be an expert in figurative language usage. Let's try the analogy again. Analogy. Got it? Everyone say after me "analogy". In the same...

    Facts for evolutionists

QFT. If I was Jewish, I think I'd be ... terribly vexed ... by a bunch of loudmouthed heretical n00bs telling me how to read my own books.

    Facts for evolutionists

Not really. There are various analogies that work here to illustrate that these "limits" of yours -- which, I note, we're expected to believe exist even though you admit you can't demonstrate their mechanism (or, for that matter, provide any form of evidence for) -- are nothing more than a...

    Ray Comfort Rebuttal

Yes indeed. Pseudorandom anecdote: when I was 12 I had to memorize the Gettysburg Address for English; we had a week to do it, but I completely forgot until the night before we were due to recite it from memory; freaking out, I remembered that one of the hints the teacher gave was to read it...
