  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Excluding a friend

I don't know what the background situation is here so it is a little hard to give advise but i'll say what I see the scriptures as teaching. First if the person is sinning then you need to sit down with them and outline what the bible says about continuance in sin and the consequence that that...

wats would God's will be on this?

Hebrews is there talking of a deliberate continuance in sin that denies your loving God if you love me keep my commandments (John 14). As born again believers we have everything needed for life and Godliness (2 Peter 1) however John talks about the fact that we are still subject to temptation...

The Myth of saying that God Loved all men in the world without exception !

I can agree with that, if the intent was for the atonement to pay for everyone's sin then as you say there would be universal salvation which the scriptures don't teach. Which therefor means that the atonement is limited in its intent for those who Christ calls His own but the sufficiency is...

The Myth of saying that God Loved all men in the world without exception !

Anthony sorry for the late reply, and my apologies for being a touch unclear it is as you say those who practice iniquity that God hates and that is what I tried to put over before. However as shown there are verses in scripture that show some form of love from God to all his creation.....I...

The Myth of saying that God Loved all men in the world without exception !

Right lets try again.... Anthony I agree that God hates sinners and have held that view for quite some time as the scriptures seem clear on the issue, there are too many that talk of how God dislikes those who practice iniquity not just the iniquity they practice. However I also have to...

The Myth of saying that God Loved all men in the world without exception !

I'll get back to you tomorrow, I just typed out a large reply and then deleted it and can't be bothered doing it again at the mo.

The Myth of saying that God Loved all men in the world without exception !

There are a few passages that support the view that God loves all men even those who are disobediant.... Just a few passages that need to be considered; Psalm 145 vs 9 The LORD is good to all and His tender mercies are over all His works 1 John 2 vs 2 My little children, these...

I am just so fed up with my life

I know that someone has already talked about David but I think that its worth repeating as you both have in common a sexual sin (David wen't a wee bit further by killing Bathsheba's husband first though). I'll have to be honest and say that David payed for that sin for the rest of his life in...

    Love Thy Neighbor?

Well I guess i'm going to be in the tiny tiny minority of 1 in that I think telling them about Jesus straight away was the right thing to do.......if He is the most important person in our lives then surely He's the first we would wan't to talk about. I'm not saying that you should have gone in...

I put my faith in God and he abandoned me [moved from Christian apologetics]

Colossians 3 1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. At least try and...

Why do we ignore some scriptures?

I appreciate that you are drawing the thread to an end but I think this is worth saying so will hope you revisit. It is possible that 2 people can hold separate views on matters such as this and still both love the Lord their God with all their heart.....what it comes down to is does a view...

I put my faith in God and he abandoned me [moved from Christian apologetics]

Thats not what the scriptures mean when they talk about God's blessing everything you have quoted is earthly, what the scriptures mean by blessing is more love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness.....basically the fruits of the spirit. We are blessed when we become more like Christ (I must...

    The fate of babies

The scriptures seem to me to be saying that if a babe were to die then they would not be held accountable for the wrongs they commit because they don't know right from wrong (Isaiah 7 15), subsequently as those who go to hell do so because they wilfully disobey God (knowing what is right and...

Why do we ignore some scriptures?

But they aren't ignoring the writings of Paul that is simply the way you have decided to see their 'interpretation,' I believe that an answer has been provided to every idea you put forth but those answers have not conformed to your own belief in what the scriptures say......ergo you see their...
