  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Based on lyrics alone, would you consider this song Christian?

Is it okay to like 70s Rock bands, including glam rock?

Sweet had a great run of singles in early/mid 70s. For me, they are one of those bands that a single "best of" LP/CD will do just fine. The less said about their stage costumes, the better, I think, though. Anyway, they were huge in the UK during the glam years of the early 70s. Huge.

    Any guitar players out there?

My main instrument is piano/keyboards, but I play rhythm (acoustic) guitar in my church's praise team and enjoy it very much. I feel like I improve a little each week, and my confidence has increased as well. It helps to be at least a little bit confident when you play in front of 350 - 400...

I lean toward "Oxygen" and "Equinox", and I also found an excellent "Best Of" CD a year or so ago. Good stuff.

    My Music Taste

I've found that my tastes have broadened as I've gotten older. In jr. high and high school, I was strictly a rock, pop and top 40 kind of guy. In college, I began to discover classical (the music of choice for music majors at the college I attended - needless to say I changed my major after a...
