  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Matthew 18:10 and the teaching of orginal sin.

I think that this means that Jesus did not necessarily mean that each of his followers has a guardian angel assigned to him. But Jesus did show that angels who work closely with God have an active interest in members of the Christian congregation.

Did Jesus live with His parents till He was 30?

It seems to me that he was obedient to his parents because he died sinless. Compare: Exodus 20:12; Luke 2:51; Ephesians 6:1, 2.

James 3:18 says someone can sow "fruit" . . . why not seeds??

Those who declare their Christian faith to others are reminded at James 3:18 that our “fruit of righteousness” should be performed under peaceful conditions. Those that are sowing/planting “seed” (words) of peace about the “good news” (Luke 2:10) need to be careful not to be hypocritical...

    favourite scripture?

For me, this is a very thought provoking question and difficult to narrow down any one scripture as my favorite. I have many favorites but they impact me differently depending on how they significantly impact on my person/life. However, I do think of these following scriptures often...

    Looking for a scripture.

Examine 1 Corinthians 6:11 and 1 Timothy 1:12-16. However, I am not sure these scriptures will directly satisfy your query.

    Philippians 2:6

Some translations read “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.” Others read: “he did not cling to his equality with God.” However, in still others, the latter portion of that passage reads or has the...

    Malachi 4:5

The original Elijah had lived some 500 years before that prophecy was uttered, but in the first century C.E. Jesus indicated that John the Baptizer was the foretold counterpart of Elijah.-Matthew 11:12-14; Mark 9:11-13.

What is the covenant confirmed for 7 yrs in Daniel 9:27 poll

The prophecy at Daniel 9:24-27 points to the appearance of the Messiah at the start of the 70th “week” of years (Daniel 9:25) and his sacrificial death in the middle or “at the half” of the final week, thereby ending the validity of the sacrifices and gift offerings under the Law covenant...

Why Christ is called "Immanuel" and Satan is called "Lucifer" in the Bible

Isaiah 14:4-12 is part of a prophecy that refers to a future event to befall a Babylonian king: Nebuchadnezzar. Satan, as the god of this system we live in, uses nations and apostate religions as instruments to accomplish his ambitions. (2 Corinthians 4:4; 1 John 5:19) This is symbolically...

What does "...as many as were ordained to eternal life believed" mean in Acts 13:48?

It seems to me that there were-even now-individual who, while unbelievers, “were rightly disposed for everlasting life.” Meaning they eventually became or will become believers.

Michael the Arch Angel = Jesus??? Again. Sorry!!!

Jesus is the “seed” mentioned at Genesis 3:15 who would ultimately fulfill the first prophecy of the bible by crushing the serpents and his seed. It is fitting the he should be the one to do this as the newly installed king. Jesus talked about the roles he and his angels would do in the...

Did Eve talk to a literal snake?

Satan opened the mouth of the serpent. I do not see how the two accounts would be different since Satan was/is powerful. In both accounts-whether literal of fictitious-the uses of ventriloquism is one possibility.

Did Eve talk to a literal snake?

Consider the account at Numbers 22:28-30. Like the serpent in Genesis, would you also consider that the ass did not speak or was fictions or symbolic.

Why does it say that Jesus “learned obedience”?

Before coming to earth, Jesus was obedient to his Father as model example in heaven. His obedience was of an altogether different quality. He had observed suffering but had never experienced it in person. Now on earth-in the flesh-he was now tested, hardened, as it were, and proved by trials...

    Habakkuk 2:14

Good question! It required me to reflect on it in hopes to get the sense of the scripture. In reference to the “knowledge” seems to be reserved for a future date or after a specific event: Battle of Armageddon. After this event, God’s sovereignty will be forever vindicated. (Revelation...
