Two she-bears came out of the woods and TORE forty-two of the BOYS

This wasn't the only time that the mocking of a prophet turned out badly for the mocker. But I'm guessing God is the one the prophet takes to be mocked. David wasn't in the office of "Prophet" when he stood up to Goliath, but he did so because Goliath was defying the armies of the Living God.

    Prayer works?

Who is Calvin? I don't care about Calvin. Don't bother waxing poetic about Calvin. I know very well that Jesus chose to go. (I'm guessing that even your beloved Calvin would say the same!) But that is a red herring, irrelevant to the argument. If you could show me that what happened to Jesus...

    My take on total depravity

Ha! Actually the Bible wording is more emphatic than that! But you are right, and I'd guess that most Reformed/Calvinists would prefer that Total Inability was used. Truth is, though, "total inability" sounds neutral to me. Total Depravity invokes the notion of the root being rotten.

λέγει αὐτῇ Ἰησοῦς Μή μου ἅπτου Do not touch (cling to) me

I hope you will admit that is speculation.

If God knows everything, why do we need to pray?

God knew what they were going to do before he created —in fact, it was his plan for them to do that, according to Acts 2:23. What they did was part of what it takes to create the Bride of Christ.

    Matthew 8:17 quotes Isaiah 53:4

Josheb said: So, would the hermeneutic we should follow be, "Follow the NT writers' example when endeavoring to understand the OT prophecy," or is there some other hermeneutic principle we should garner from Matthew's example? Would you further say the hermeneutic principle to follow is...

    No one seeks for God?

I guess I need you to explain more, and probably to defend from Scripture, what you are talking about —this "Day of Division". Note that I'm a monergist.

    No one seeks for God?

Believers also seek God. Even those who have found him continue to pursue him, which to my mind is also seeking. In a way, that is true seeking. Like with what some call obedience, which is really mere compliance with what they understand, if the person has not been born again, the 'seeking'...

Speaker Johnson Announces Major New Election Integrity Legislation Following Trump Meeting

Once I cashed a check at Citizens Bank, a Citizens Bank check, and they not only checked my ID but made me give a thumb-print! They are more careful who they let into the DNC conventions than who they want voting...

If God knows everything, why do we need to pray?

Was evil done to Christ? THAT is what I was referring to, (in case you didn't notice). I hope you understand that God's plan from the beginning was the redemption of those to whom he would show mercy. Sin is not news to God, nor a mistake on God's part, nor was it something that he was not...

God will justify the circumcised BY faith and the uncircumcised THROUGH faith

Yeah, see "plural vs singular article" I believe the scriptures. A mere person, no, not so much...

    Matthew 8:17 quotes Isaiah 53:4

Seems a bit simplistic. I should think that would depend on several things, such as the occasion of their use of it, and to whom they are speaking (and why) and the mode of their presentation.

Where did Cain's wife come from?

I don't remember the numbers, but there is a mathematical possibility of thousands of people above twenty years old at that time. Usually, though, in my experience, the question is brought up by those who wish to discredit the Bible, or otherwise resolve the "difficulty" presenting itself to...
