Is water baptism necessary for us to receive the Holy Spirit (salvation)?

Water baptism won't save anyone or even finish off your salvation. It has nothing to do with your salvation. If it did, it would clearly say that, but it doesn't. And trying to disprove the lake of fire being conscious beings in eternal punishment is ridiculous.

    The Spirit of the Word

I was really joking anyways haha, it's cool. People will do what they do, I didn't suspect you of doing anything like that, just me being silly. :) Hope you like the study, let me know if you have any questions. Take care, Marc.

    The Spirit of the Word

Alright dude. If you want to make suggestions, that's cool. Red on white is more difficult to read than black on white. Fortunately the posts are on blue and not white. It helps out. Plus, I like red. I keep my text black, bible verses red, and emphasized words in blue. That way I have a...

Is water baptism necessary for us to receive the Holy Spirit (salvation)?

I notice that you never try to prove the scriptural things I'm saying wrong with scripture, you just like to pick certain statements I've made and comment on them. This is a BIBLE STUDY thread dude. Join in, or, go do something else. Seriously. Weeeiiiiiirrrrrddddd.

Is water baptism necessary for us to receive the Holy Spirit (salvation)?

First off Calluna, The masses are almost always wrong about what is the truth. History, and the present shows us this and so does the Word. And you can quit pretending that hermeneutics is some kind of way to study the Bible and learn the truth, cuz it's not, it's MANS way of convincing...

    The Spirit of the Word

It's quite far from opinion, look at the links in my post above. If you think it's opinion, prove me wrong. But, you won't try to do that, you'd rather run your mouth and quote every sentence I say. Get a life my man, it's sad that you only came on this thread to comment on how you don't want to...

    The Spirit of the Word

Ah, thanks for the offer, but I already went through a phase of not knowing which translation to believe, because they all had such terrible flaws and my studies grew so deep that it wouldn't line up! So I prayed with my friend who was also noticing the same thing, and very shortly after, we...

Is water baptism necessary for us to receive the Holy Spirit (salvation)?

Sure, we all go through trials. "Unquenchable fire" can't possibly be referring to a temporary trial can it? You be the judge of that. Un... quenchable... fire... This parallel is used a lot of places. Separating sheep and goats, wheat and tares, the harvest gathering in Revelation, etc...

Is water baptism necessary for us to receive the Holy Spirit (salvation)?

I meant nobody in the BIBLE. Plenty of people have said that on planet earth, especially these days, it's rampant.

And the way that those translations use the english is WAY more accurate than others. That's why I used them.

    The Spirit of the Word

Sorry, it seemed to me that's what you implied, that you don't like to do bible study. Anyways, you can attack what I'm doing all you want, go right ahead. You do have the freedom of speech more or less, and I support that no matter what someone has to say. You should have the right to say it...

Calluna, you seem to have a divisive spirit, I'll pray for you right now.

    The Spirit of the Word

It's the American Standard Version, Numeric English New Testament and Gods Word translations, no KJV at all. If you don't like to study your Bible, that's fine. If you don't want to read it, don't. Just don't come on here an complain about it. Here's why I didn't get to the main point early...

    The Spirit of the Word

Hey you can do with it whatever you'd like. Other than messing with it. I'm putting a copyright on it right now :D Feel free to distribute and copy it, in full or in part and please do study it out for yourself. Just please don't change the words, that's all. :) Enjoy! Marc Stinebaugh

Is water baptism necessary for us to receive the Holy Spirit (salvation)?

Never once anywhere does it say anything like "repent and be water baptized" or anything even close. John said, "I baptized with water, but he will baptize with the spirit" Paul said, "I wasn't sent to baptize" Jesus didn't baptize in water. Nobody EVER ONCE said that it is a "public...
