  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Marriage between a believer and a non-believer

So do you immediately lose being "one" when one partner in a hitherto non-Christian marriage becomes a Christian?? Do you immediately lose your "common ground"?? All very well pontificating about what is right and wrong and laying down laws about who can meet and socialise with who before...

    Bible and science

I'm so pleased you called this thread "The Bible and Science. Too many Christians argue about The Bible OR science. And its a great shame so many never learned about metaphors, similes, allegories, figures of speech, and ordinary poetic constructions.

    Judging in action

We are not to judge people, and label them, as has been said so clearly on this thread. But we can, and should judge people in general, in order to avoid "bad company", illegal, wrong or silly actions etc. Usually its called "common sense", but we have, as Christians, to make sure that we...

The cure for homosexuality have been found!

The article in question has been rubbished by another paper in its science section, as having misinterpreted and deliberately misinforming as to what the scientists are trying to do. Humans nowhere enter the equation, and they weren't actually trying to make rams heterosexual. And anyway...

The cure for homosexuality have been found!

How can you have a "cure" for something that isn't an illness? This sounds the most wicked, unethical thing I have ever heard. And if Evangelical Christians (and there are other sorts, you know) start supporting this sort of nonsense they deserve all the ridicule they will receive. Next...

    How would we choose?

Alternatively, just stick to Protestantism. Just because someone says you are wrong doesn't mean you are wrong!

    Does God hate amputees?

So if a mine blows a soldier's leg off in Iraq, its for God's greater glory? Or if an African child steps on one of the many mines left behind after the various wars, it could be for God's greater glory? Funny way of wanting to show his glory! And personally, and I don't want to start a...

Evolution is not sending anyone to hell.

Chris777- are you talking about spiritual knowledge or secular knowledge? (If, of course, you can separate them!) Do you mean that you don't believe in acquiring knowledge at all? No going to school, university, college? Do your children acquire knowledge to help them through their daily...

8 Islands now under Ocean: 70,000 homeless predicted

Don't know where you are from, but at least you are quoting a reputable newspaper! Bangladesh will probably be the next casualty. Parts will flood, but also the salt sea will seep into low-lying farmland, rendering it useless. I read today that Bush has agreed that Polar Bears need help...

    Global Warming?

Can't remember his name - that Imam who preached all sorts of violence in Mosques and was, I think, imprisoned. Similarly, the BNP (British National Party - a very far-right-wing organisation,) have on various occasions been accused of inciting race hate and violence against Asians. Probably...

    Global Warming?

All the electricity and gas companies are trying this on!! They get our money long before they need it, so get interest on it. There's been a lot in the papers about it. Don't go along with it. If necessary, go back to paying quarterly by cheque. Don't let the **** get you down or get...

    Global Warming?

No, Al Gore hasn't been "hired by the Government"! I've just checked. He is over here speaking at various places on global warming. That's OK by us - speech is free in the UK.

    Global Warming?

Well, if you don't think that some people have got an obscene amount of money, and millions of people can barely live, then I think you need to read your Bible!! I didn't say being a Marxist was a good idea. There was an "or" between the marxist and wealth redistribution. Are you sure Al...

    Global Warming?

Thanks very much, but Al Gore and his merry men are hardly influencing us British!!! Most people wouldn't know who he was if he came up and bit them! No, we have plenty of perfectly good, reputable scientists of our own (yes, we are civilised over here, and our education system is just...
