  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We only wish that the ELCA held the Sacrament as reverent as you make it seem. The truth is, however, they don't. By giving it to anyone who comes up to the altar regardless of their worthiness to receive, they might as well just put it on a plate and let people help themselves to it. It's...

The LCMS has no position on congregations allowing women to read the Old Testament and/or Epistle readings, since that is not considered a specific function of the pastoral office.

While I believe that Macs are overpriced for what they are capable of, their stability makes them ideal for video and audio editing and processing along with gaming.

I'm not so sure about that. I think Rev got bitten by something a while back from that very thing. ^_^ ;)

    WELS Prayer fellowship

Okay, I'd like to ask a sincere question regarding the WELS prayer fellowship practice. Can someone show me where in Scripture that all forms of prayer are tied to corporate worship?

Why can't we all just get along...

My comments in Wildboars thread were out of line. For that, I apologize to him and all who were offended. But, I do have issue with the WELS folks who repeatedly misrepresent the LCMS, and yet get all bent out of shape when their doctrinal issues are brought up. They seem to be allowed to dump...

The official slam the WELS thread

This is just childish. (I should have known it was a mistake to come back here.)

What is the visible church? Where can it be found?

Really?? Hmmmm... Thank God my church body doesn't follow such nonsense. The Gospel is preached each and every Sunday and I know of no church leader in the U.S. who has been reprimanded by the gov't.

I would hope that a pastor worth his salt wouldn't have to search.

Does there have to be a "formal rite" for such a thing? I believe the word of God is sufficient.

    Ablaze?

Lose your glasses? ^_^ I think you are basing the actions of one pastor in one congregation for your whole outlook on the program. It isn't a "pentecostal" approach to Lutheran doctrine or evangelism. It does promote the use of the historic liturgies found in our LSB hymnal, in fact the...
