  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    "There's probably no God"

As Selfinflikted pointed out, there is no atheistic "way of life". I don't choose to be an atheist. But God as described in the Bible has clearly been disproved by science. I choose to take notice of evidence, and because I do that I'm led to the inevitable conclusion that there is no God.

    Atheism and the supernatural

I don't believe in ghosts or ghoolies or that Uri Geller is anything other than a conjurer who makes dishonest claims. Some atheists do believe in such things as well as fortune tellers etc., but then, atheists can be dumb as well.

    Should obesity be legal?

I don't mind there being obese men. The more obese men there are, the better I look. But I do think that all fat women should be sent to compulsory fitness camps.

    Bad taste or not?

Actually, I think art which deliberately flaunts social taboo is usually the work of a talentless artist playing that cheap trick of courting controversy to gain publicity and pretend more artistic validity than the work really has. I'm not saying this particular photoshoot falls into that...

Survey: Christians' Opinions about Atheists' Morality

Dear All, I would like to post a few questions purely for the purpose of learning. I am not looking for debate or to make a point, so I'd really only like to hear frank and candid views from the Christians here. I won't challenge your replies and I ask others not to. As I understand it, if...
