  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Astrology

Is it okay for Christians to recognize Astrology? Was there any mention of the Zodiac in the Bible and was there ever a time when Gods people recognized and/or used it? What about other Icons used in the Bible? For example, Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John are compared to Man, Lion, Ox, and Eagle...

    Does the bible contain contradictions?

I'll toss one up too I guess: In Gensis 4:26 we read: “Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD.” In Exodus 6:2-3 we read: “God also said to Moses, "I am the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God...

Website that lists the *sins* of God.

I was browsing through these forums a few months back and someone had posted a link to a website that listed the various events concerning the so-called sins of God as outlined in the Bible. It was mostly a list of the wars God engages man into and the times he killed men, women, and children...

    Does the bible contain contradictions?

UGH! I said it once and then twice in this thread, so I guess three times won't hurt. I agree that this is not a contradiction, but not for the reasons you displayed above. The point I was trying to make, is that failure at understanding, will lead to the conclusion that it, and many other...

    Does the bible contain contradictions?

That was the point I was making, the poster essentially said: Premise: We just don't know enough yet. Conclusion:Therefore there can't be any contradictions. That is a fallacy. I was not arguing semantics and chose to use the posters "seeming" quote to avoid further argument in that...

    Does the bible contain contradictions?

Ugh! The Bible is riddled with tons of verses encouraging us to quest for knowledge, gain understanding, and pray for Wisdom. If you insist I'll find one, but you would find more to search for "knowledge" at bible.com. To be fair, if the "seeming" contradictions (as you put it) have not yet...

    Does the bible contain contradictions?

I don't think it is an issue of interpretation as was suggested in an earlier responce, but one of understanding. Knowledge leads to Understanding and while knowledge can be conveyed, understand cannot. Does the Bible contain contradictions, to those that don't understand ... "yes", to those...
