Lifesaver

I'm an avid student of economics and philosophy.

Austrian School economics (especially Ludwig von Mises) and St. Thomas Aquinas are my two intellectual passions, though I also learn much from other sources such as Hume, Wittgenstein and enjoy very much the discussions that take place in the Anglo-American analytic tradition.

Most importantly of all, though, I am an orthodox Roman Catholic who accepts all that comes with that, even though often fails to live up to it.

It is true, that a little philosophy inclineth man's mind to atheism; but depth in philosophy bringeth men's minds about to religion. For while the mind of man looketh upon second causes scattered, it may sometimes rest in them, and go no further; but when it beholdeth the chain of them, confederate and linked together, it must needs fly to Providence and Deity.
-Francis Bacon, essay "On Atheism"
