  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Conventional Christian ideas like that mostly make no sense at all. And I reckon it's not worthwhile to try to explain.

I like what some say here. I haven't read all. Would it be practical or not to meet here weekly or so among some of us? I came here now to see if there's a group I can join. I'm feeling kind of adrift. Just retired after making enough income to buy a house for a friend. I think my next project...

Is the Shroud of Turin Jesus' burial cloth?

Oh. I didn't notice that she brought him up. I did too (Garlaschelli).

I don't favor YEC or OEC. I guess both can be called creation science. An oxymoron is a phrase that seems contradictory, but I doubt if anything can be scientifically proven to be an oxymoron, because I think oxymorons are subjective. To be a science a subject must be falsifiable. Agreed? Can...

DiscipleOfChrist85 said: You studied many [alternative sciences] yet you produce no evidence to back up your claim and you realize alternate science is not science. If alternate scientists cannot back up their claims with repeatable testable and falsifiable evidence then no one has any reason to...

Is the Shroud of Turin Jesus' burial cloth?

Were you talking to me? If so, you didn't read me very well. I don't support the so-called skeptic. I'm just trying to find out if what I heard about was a real scientific experiment and if it found out anything noteworthy about the blood on the shroud. I didn't think the links I found online &...

Several comparative mythologists have studied his evidence extensively and concluded that Velikovsky's dating of events were wrong and many of his claims were wrong, but some of his basic ideas were correct. Talbott, Cardona & Cochrane are the mythologists I'm referring to. Velikovsky was likely...

Newgeology.us does not discuss millions of years, I'm pretty sure. Here's a quote from newgeology.us/presentation30.html "When did it happen? "I have pondered this important question since 1986 and have considered dates between 3,500 B.C. and 28,000 B.C. A particularly good case can be made for...

What percentage of mainstream science claims do you think are true? I think a large percentage of them are false, because I've studied many of them without bias and have found that there is good evidence against many mainstream science claims. I believed most conventional science claims when I...

Is the Shroud of Turin Jesus' burial cloth?

This below is what I was likely referring to in my OP, when I asked if the blood on the shroud supports the shroud's authenticity. I'm not certain this is it, because I only heard a few words on a video. But this below sounds like what I heard. I'm including a few excerpts from a webpage. And...

That channel is pretty good. He's naive though IMO to assume that conventional dating methods are accurate. The Creationist links I provided in the OP have a lot of good evidence that most dating methods are highly inaccurate. So Gobekli Tepe is likely no older than about 2,500 BC. Since all of...

QUESTION. Does anyone find any of my statements in my OP plausible or intriguing? I'm honestly hoping to find a few folks who are open-minded and curious about the subject. I guess the OP sounds extreme to most people, or maybe just boring. ARGUMENT. I came across this line of reasoning just a...

I don't base my prehistory findings on religion. I only mentioned my religious views at the end, for those who may be curious about them. I did provide 2 references in my OP to locations where there is a lot of evidence for my statements. But I'll try to provide evidence here as well as I have time.

Yes, I have evidence for all of the scientific claims, I think. Which claims are you particularly interested in? I provided 2 links in my OP. Those cover a lot of evidence. I'll try to answer specific questions and comments, as I have time and interest.
