  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My husband died unexpectedly and suddenly at age 50

I am so sorry for whoat you are going thru. It's a "club" that none of us want to belong to. I lost my husband suddenly on March 12, 2008. James was just 45 and truly the love of my life, my soulmate. We were married 3 weeks shy of 3 years. Still newlyweds and planned on always being that...

    New to this forum

Hello dear ones, I too am a widow. I lost my darling husband on March 12 of this year. It was sudden--he was driving his truck for work and experienced "sudden death"--hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. It was a terrible shock. Just 3 weeks short of our 3rd wedding anniversary. I am not a...

Do you and your spouce have a song?

We were on the search for a special song and a friend of mine from work heard "Bless the Broken Road" on the radio one day and said it reminded her of our relationship. I downloaded it off the net and played it for my guy. It touched both of our hearts and told our story! We had it sang at...

    Homesickness after marriage?

I've been married a short time (April 2) and went through some of this myself. Imagine though, my life! I was 45 years old and still living at home with mom and dad!!! (yes, I worked, pretty much had my own apartment in the entire upstairs of their house--but, I had lived there all of my...

    Sweet Little Somethings for Men

I'm a newlywed of 2 months. Yesterday, I took a plate of brownies to my husbands work with a nice mushy card attached. He loved it! Another time I hid little notes around the house in places around the house. In the kitchen with the glasses I put, "your love fills me up", stuff like that...

Has anyone relocated to be with thier significant other?

In getting back to your original post, Hmmmmm.....I never thought I would do this for any other relationship I've been in, but now, things are different. I live 160 miles from my fiance. I have spent a lot of time in his area and I really love it. I feel this is where the Lord is leading...

    Would You Ever...

Well, I'm currently involved with a man with a criminal record. He's coming to see my family this weekend and ask my parents for my hand in marriage. He will also be telling them about his past. We have prayed a lot about this. He served 7 years in prison for 1st degree burglary and drug...

    Does "Divorced" matter to you?

Well, I've never been married and never thought I would date a divorced man just because it would be complicated. Didn't know it was "wrong" to be divorced in the eyes of God until last year when I started studying the Word. Now that I'm older (44), I have found that there aren't many men to...

    Names for your SO?

Early in our relationship, my sweetie told me that his mom always called him "Sammy John". She died 8 years ago, and so I started calling him that. He just loves it. I also call him "Farmer Boy", "Babe" and "my Sweet Guy". To him I am "Miss Purdy".

    Big mistake

I was in the same position as you last December. It is very painful, but you will get better. It takes getting down on your knees and then moving on. The guy I was with promised me the moon----until I gave in to him--then he wanted nothing to do with me. A month later he was dating someone...

You Know Your Getting Old When:

Jello just came in "basic" flavors. Now there is white grape and strawberry-kiwi, and the kind with glitter stuff in it. Pop was real basic. Diet or regular. Not 10 billion kinds like today. Pantyhose was just pantyhose. Now it comes with lotion in it and different kinds of support and...

    Something to say or do

Do the 2 of you have instant messaging? Try praying "together" that way. You can type in a line or two and then she does. Another thought would be to have a designated time each day to pray. My former boyfriend and I used to pray together on the phone. We lived 64 miles...

    How old are you inside?

I know what you're saying Keil---I work with a young lady that got married last fall. She told me her parents are younger than me!!!! Good Grief!!! There is NO WAY I could have a child THAT old!! :D I can't imagine one much more than 2 myself! I picked the 28-29 group. My first...

    hold my hand...

My parents, married 53 years, still hold hands in public--maybe you've seen them ;) I've always found this to be very endearing and long to have someone to hold my hand as well. My last boyfriend wasn't one for any PDA's, but he always would grab my hand whenever we went out to eat when we...

    Why do some men...

I've NEVER had that happen to me. Guess I'd like to hear it just once and then I'll post and tell everyone how it felt. ;) 'Course, once would probably be pretty exciting for me, so it would actually have to happen several times :pink: for me to get really bored or disgusted by it........
