  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Treason/ the A.C.L.U.

The ACLU is about the civil liberties of all people residing in America. Sometimes that means someone whose behavior or beliefs are entirely opposed to what I believe and/or stand for. If the case has no merit either they won't take it, or the courts will decide. But it's not for us to decide...

Atheists/theists, who will you be voting for?

Atheist and undecided. It's early still folks and I'm waiting for both party platforms to come out.

    Preaching to the choir

For some reason having different parties works in many of the state leadership roles. We have a dem governor and a rep lt governor here and they seem to work together and get the state assembly to work together better that way. John McCain has shown himself to be bipartisan in many instances...

"Could you please kill yourself somewhere else?"

In fire prone areas it's not only unacceptable it's downright dangerous. This is an odd year here and we might not have a fire season but in places with one like Southern CA, Utah, Idaho, Montana (where I live) please do not throw your lit cigarette butts on the ground. It could mean a whole...

    Preaching to the choir

I think the primary/caucus mess needs to be straightened out or many will give up on both the rep and the dem parties. Hillary won the popular vote but only because of the Michigan and Florida votes. If you are a republican in a very blue state it can feel like your vote doesn't count and visa...

    Preaching to the choir

Being in Montana my state doesn't have a large population and I live in a blue city in a mostly red state. The things that count to Montanans haven't been mentioned by either candidate as far as I can tell. Is Obama for gun control? If so and that view gets out very few Montanans will vote for...

Conservatism: How is it a viable political position?

I know someone living in Sweden with universal health care that can't find a psychiatrist that will give him ADD medication. He's looking for a over the counter alternative to combat the attention problems that make college difficult.

Conservatism: How is it a viable political position?

All those bureaucrats have to justify their jobs btw. Plus the person who has put in the time, money, and effort to have a high skilled career does indeed deserve a higher pay than a kid that didn't even graduate from HS.

Conservatism: How is it a viable political position?

Socialized medicine as well as other socialistic ideas sound wonderful in theory but in practice they don't work all that great. As military dependent I had govt run and operated health care for many years and you get what you pay for folks. That is the reality of life. If your health care is...

    Preaching to the choir

Sometimes it just feels like your one vote doesn't count for anything. At this point I'm undecided in the presidential election.

If you think the TSA is bad...

Actual gun owner and operator error led to that. Having armed pilots is something that is supposed to be a benefit to the passengers. I'd rather not debate TSA rules here though. This is politics at CF not the TSA blog. Btw I really think it would be a good idea if you went and read the...

If you think the TSA is bad...

I also no we aren't perfect. Btw the TSA has a blog now where these things are discussed. http://www.tsa.gov/blog/

If you think the TSA is bad...

Dude I am a TSA screener and although not perfect we do catch on average about 20 guns a week in the checkpoints across the country. They also caught that fellow in Orlando a few months ago with bomb parts (all of them) in his checked baggage. Btw he was caught before he got to the checkpoint...

If you think the TSA is bad...

Talk about overboard. I understand that security isn't just about stopping guns and bombs from getting on the planes, but only in a very weird world would a transformer t-shirt be an issue.

    Obama pro/con (4)

I actually can't wait for the platforms of both candidates to come out because for the life of me I can't figure out what either stands for. Hope and change are very nebulous terms and McCain is probably the most liberal republican in recent times to get the nomination.
