  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Don't you dare eat that animal, unless it has agreed to be food.

Not at all. I agree with you. Physical creatures consume physical resources to survive. There's a big difference between taking only what we need though, and glutting ourselves, between hunting and foraging, as opposed to the industrial horror shows that modern farms are. How do you pick a religion?

One of my favourite Truths comes from the movie Dogma: I think we all choose our Truths. Most people choose to accept the set of truths they are presented with by their parents and their community simply because it fits them. There's nothing wrong with that. Others go searching for different...

How do you pick a religion?

I could not have said it better myself. Thank you. ~Lady.A.

Don't you dare eat that animal, unless it has agreed to be food.

I don't know, for me all life is precious, and having compassion and trying to do good for my fellow human beings does not mean I can't try to make the lives of other organisms better too. And I don't kill bugs - I have a strict catch-and-release policy in my home (You should see me freaking out...

How do you pick a religion?

I became disillusioned with the Protestant tradition I grew up in, started asking questions people couldn't or wouldn't answer, and started searching for my own answers. Over the next decade I researched many different religions and philosophies, and after a while started to see the essential...

Is it right to collectively vote on individual rights?

To me, the only place where you can make the cut-off is where my choices start interfering with the choices of another. I have the choice to pump lethal drugs into my body if I'm terminally ill, and I should not be prevented from doing so because my choice does not impact on the choices of...

Don't you dare eat that animal, unless it has agreed to be food.

Judging other organisms by our own yardstick of civilization is no different from colonialists who go into cultures they know nothing about and calling them barbarians. Animals are WAY more intelligent than we believe. It's only taken us till now to figure out the science to realise that. A few...

Don't you dare eat that animal, unless it has agreed to be food.

When cells in our bodies start multiplying uncontrollably, consuming everything around them while producing toxic waste materials they put back into their environment, we call it cancer. If we all did that, you and I would be in absolute agreement. ;) When you think about it, it was...

Is it right to collectively vote on individual rights?

IDK, I'll concede there are and have been good leaders/leaderships out there that have truly had the best interests of everybody at heart. But it just seems that the whole "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" thing seems depressingly true for the majority of people. I just don't know if we can...

Hugs honey. Sorry. I get passionate and perhaps a tad ... pushy when it comes to animal rights. I wish I hadn't posted that video. ~Lady.A.

    Are mutants are people too?

I wouldn't be so sure. Those glow in the dark fish glow in the dark because jellyfish genes were spliced into their DNA structure. ~Lady.A.

    Are mutants are people too?

ROFL. See if you can get your hands on a book called "Future Man" I read it in school when I was just getting interested in genetics, and it scared the *&%^ out of me. Not a pretty picture. ~Lady.A.

Is it right to collectively vote on individual rights?

While we can argue who has first claim to us, I think we agree that no other human being ever should. I agree. In large part that is why I believe in anarcho-socialism. Corporations and governments routinely exploit people around the world, and I can see no other mechanism except by removing...

    Are mutants are people too?

Point taken, and sorry for my part in misleading people. That was not my intention - I misread the articles, and only used them as an example on which to base a hypothetical question. Hypothetically though, hybrids, chimeras and mosaics already exist - many naturally occurring (tortoiseshell...

    The male gender in danger?

Yeah I read that thing. If I remember there was a pop-science book on it as well. Sigh, maybe that movie "Children of Men" is a lot closer than we think. ~Lady.A.
