  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Independence for Scotland?

I heard Tony Blair once praising Scotland for being part of the UK. No prizes for guessing why. According to him, Scotland plays a vital role in the UK economy as it manufactures the destroyers we need in our pathetic and wholly unjustified War in Iraq. Leaving that aside, I belive that the...

What does the UK have to be proud of?

On the point of chavs, I once spotted a chav, long time ago, waiting for a bus in West London, holding what seemed like a gun in his hand....I presumed that he was a cadet at the local RAF centre. But I could have been wrong. The only reason why I sound unsure is because one is not accustomed...

What does the UK have to be proud of?

Going back to the point I made earlier about the "great union" between England, Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland. Wouldn't it also be great if South Asia also follow this example and there be a reunification of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh? Perhaps slightly off topic but a unified state is...

What does the UK have to be proud of?

We may not have comparable records of gun crime to the US, but it is very worrying, as highlighted in the interview with Blair on Sunday in The Politics Show, that we are currently going through a violent crime epidemic. Blair may deny it, but the drip drip of news of shootings and stabbings...

What does the UK have to be proud of?

The numbers are staggering but you must remember that the pro gun lobby in Washington are very influential. So long as they have a government in power who are happy for the pro gun lobby to influence domestic politics, gun crime sprees such as this will continue sadly. We may have to wait until...

What does the UK have to be proud of?

Surely the question should really be, "are you proud to be British"? The UK is not a human entity with the ability to think. It is a nation state created out of human thought and endeavour. We have historical precedents to thank for which brought about the great union between England, Scotland...

Why aren't we bombing the Iranians?

Most of them get turned away. Those who do make it, only occupy low paid menial jobs. Hardly the American dream.

Why aren't we bombing the Iranians?

If America represents "Freedom", then tell me why there are still prisoners being kept in Guantanamo awaiting trial even after FIVE YEARS have passed by? If America represents freedom, then also tell me why a disproportionate number of Young Black Americans spend their youth wasting away in...

Why aren't we bombing the Iranians?

Well its a legitimate question, after all we bombed Iraq without any real justification. So I think the opening post is really more a reflection of the difficult circumstances which are operating to create a sense of hopelessness. However, simply carpet bombing Iran, like we did in Iraq and...

    Cameron and Cannabis

Doesn't it strike you as odd that Cameron is calling for "sweeping reforms" amidst the soaring gun culture and violence in South London? This is strange because Cameron clearly misbehaved when younger by smoking a dangerous drug but now he has the audacity to tell young people what not to do...

Do you think Tony Blair should quit?

Surely you don't want Labour to lose out to the conservatives do you?!!!

Do you think Tony Blair should quit?

Blair thinks he can sidestep almost anything. I'm sure he'll think of something to sidestep an investigation into Iraq. He didn't even attend the House of Commons debate on Iraq.

Do you think Tony Blair should quit?

Yes. However, my feeling is that Blair is simply biding his time until Brown takes over. Blair, as usual, is adamant about something. Well, guess what it is now? He's adamant that he serves a full ten years in office. That means he is in there until May. While the rest of the country agonises...

Documentary of British Rule over India

I wouldn't even touch Jade even if I was paid eight million!!! By the way, estimates suggests Jade is worth around that same figure. Shilpa may be beautiful, but her bank balance is nowhere near as big as Jade's!!! Which is sad really since in England even bad talent is paid handsomely but in...
