  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'd really like opinions on this too.....

As far as the writing went, it was easy reading and kept ones attention. As far as the message went, it seemed to me a bit distorted. It paints a picture of what you deem as God as 'love hungry and one who is continully wounded by 'wrong human acts' and one who requires your love. It would be my...

    A couple of perplexing questions

Thank you. As far as accepting God, ultimately you could say that God is a reality to me. It is not a question of belief in God. Perhaps, I see no need to believe in that which is to me self evident. In my view, Belief is reserved to that which is mentally accepted but may or may not be true...

    A couple of perplexing questions

Ok. But if I am understanding yoiu then I guess you are still saying that God desires that which he knows he cannot have. Is my understanding of your view correct? That you have made very clear. Thanks. Forgive me if I seem to be arguing. I have no argument with you or any other here...

    A couple of perplexing questions

Again, why would God desire something that he knows he can't have? (everyone to love him) As a human, I may desire something I can never have but here we are talking about an all-knowing God who as Calminian says "knows the beginning fron the end and everything in between." Also you mention...

    A couple of perplexing questions

If God knows the beginning from the end and everything in between then why would he even have a desire that wouldn't be fulfilled? Is God a man with a desire that he is in full knowlege of that it can't be? It would seem to me that He that is complete in himself has no desires. Desires seem to...

    A couple of perplexing questions

I guess I was thinking that an all-knowing God could not become angry or revengeful because he has foreknowledge of the outcome of our actions. Also I would not think him to be subject to ego like emotions found in men. Since you say none of these things are bad, I would ask you, what is good...

    A couple of perplexing questions

Thank you ebia. I could not find those words in the Bible as you said. I find your complete answer satisfies my question. I would think that Love has no enemies. We might be in opposition to God but I cannot understand how he would consider his creation an enemy. What does God have to...

    A couple of perplexing questions

[/COLOR] It was only an inference or perception I have gotten from other Christians. Thanks for clearing that up. It seems to me that you have explained why people consider God an enemy but why should God consider anyone an enemy? It seemed to me that there is great value in forgiving...

    A couple of perplexing questions

Thank you all for your thoughtful replies. Yes it is.... Thank you. It would seem that from your response that even after this life if a person repented and called out to God from the depths of hell the father would receive him back and celebrate his return. That is a God that I can relate to.
