  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you think the WOF movement is dying?

I don't think the WOF movement is dying. It just may be that those churches didn't really have a good strong foundation in the Word, and/or were just riding a wave of the 'latest thing'. There is a trend over time for a lot of churches to lose their zeal, and it takes something special to...

    Harry Potter

There is a deep part of our human nature that craves the supernatural. This deep desire is actually God given, and is there to draw us toward God and His supernatural kingdom. Unfortunately many Christians choose to ignore and deny this desire. In my 46 years, I have crossed paths with many...

    Who's your primary feeder

I listen to and read Kenneth and Gloria Copeland the most, but I also learn from Hagin, Crefflo Dollar, Charles Capps and E.W. Kenyon. I have a one hour commute, and the Copelands are playing on the CD probably 90 percent of the time.

    smelly people in church

Sometimes I don't smell so good after going thru a service with my hot heavy choir robe on. Phew! Ken Hagin used to tell a story of an incident that occurred early in his ministry. He was preaching at a church one Sunday morning, and a car load of 'young people' (early 20's) walked into...

    Joining the church

When I switched my membership to my wife's Methodist church, the pastor first had me join, and then later on I took his "membership class". It was not required and there was no tests. I have to echo a lot of what "Mark" (above) states, in that it was a good class to sit thru and learn about...

    Workplace Alpha

Alpha is a very good ministry tool. We've been doing the "in church" version for three years now and have had great success with it. I haven't looked at the materials yet for Workplace Alpha, but I could see it being very effective. It can be hard to get co-workers into the church...

    Youth Alpha

Hi, I was searching CF and found this thread. I just wanted to share that there IS a (as you would call it), Nicky Gumbel youth Alpha We do Alpha every year at our church. The youth participate right along with the adults thru the meal, and the video (with Nikki G.) is the same one that the...

Definition and Purpose of Word of Faith and Word of Faith Fellowship...

Thanks Godown for sharing. I come here for similar minded discussion around the Word of God. One person has gained understanding of topic A and person two has gained understanding of topic B, but TOGETHER we can share and bring our piece of the puzzle together and make a more complete...

    Does God destroy marriages?

If God is TOTALLY SOVEREIGN, meaning that everything that happens is God's will... then knowing that it is God's will that no one be lost but rather saved ... then why isn't everyone in the world saved and a disciple of Christ? Isn't it God's Will that NO ONE perish?

Can enemy work on minds while sleeping?

Satan's demons do attempt to play with our minds as we sleep, to the degree that WE allow it to happen. It is not God's will for this to happen, nor does God intentionally allow it. One unknowingly way that we allow these things to happen is a result of what we "meditate on" before going to...

    The Bible in one year.

I'm doing this one. http://www.kcm.org/studycenter/bible/ I printed it off, punched holes in the margin and keep it in my Daytimer.

    Views on Purpose-Driven life

All over the internet, I've seen Pro and Con on the Purpose Driven Life. A number of people at our church got hooked on the book and earlier this year our adult Sunday school class went thru the book. My wife mostly liked the book and was very diligent to do the required reading, but she...

First Day of Sunday School Teaching

Hooper... good luck and God's grace to you as you undertake this adventure. I had been a Sunday School teacher for several years, took a three year break and back in September got back into teaching an adult Sunday school class. With leading and teaching any group, whether a small group...

What Happens When a Christian Dies?

Jesus did die physically, but we rose from the grave on that third day, and then ascended to heaven after 40 days of ministry on earth and he is presently in heaven, spirit, soul and body. As God is a triune being, so are we... spirit, soul and body. We are a spirit, we have a soul and we...

To the proponents of socialism on this forum

I hearty AMEN to that! My wife calls it Star Freak. Ouch! So I watch Star Trek when she is not home, and turn to the History Channel or GameShowNetwork when she is home.
