  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Baptism

Here is the London Baptist Confession... Chapter 29: Of Baptism 1._____ Baptism is an ordinance of the New Testament, ordained by Jesus Christ, to be unto the party baptized, a sign of his fellowship with him, in his death and resurrection; of his being engrafted into him; of remission...

    Contraception

Depends on the method involved... Some methods basically destroy the fertilized egg. This is, as has already been said, an early form of abortion. Scripture definitely condemns that. Other methods simply delay ovulation thus preventing conception from taking place. No abortion there. No...

    Baptism

Methods of baptism vary for a variety of reasons. Baptists believe in immersion for the reasons already stated. There is no overly direct interpretation given in Scripture for either immersion or sprinkling though I believe the meaning behind the Greek favors immersion. Baptists also do not...

    Theology Exam Misrepresents Reformed Theology.

I would suspect that "C" is the correct answer from the teacher's perspective. I think you did the right thing. This question does not deserve an answer.

    Any Good Reformed Study Bibles?

I suspect that is partially because JI Packer was the Theological Editor for the ESVSB and also had a hand in the ESV RSB. There are likely other reasons though...

    Any Good Reformed Study Bibles?

There are only two "Reformed" Study Bibles that I am aware of and both have been mentioned: 1) ESV Reformation Study Bible (formerly NKJV) 2) NIV Spirit of the Reformation Study Bible I have copies of both and they are quite good. However if we extend this to Study Bibles friendly to...

King James Version - How Often?

I occassionaly use the KJV but more for reading the elegant language than serious study. I have studied the issues at length and am convinced that the modern translations are created from more accurate texts. However, I do appreciate the KJV for its endurance as a translation and the inherent...

    Holman Christian Standard Bible

I have a copy of it. In fact, I watched for this one when it came out. It is a good, solid translation. I have found no issue with anything in it. The philosophy behind the translation is not as formal as the ESV or NASB but not as dynamic as the NIV or NLT. The only complaint I have had...

What I'm Reading -- How About You?

Nonfiction: The Truth War by John MacArthur. It's been a great read and I am almost finished with it. Anyone who wants to learn how to engage the Emerging Church movement should read this book. Fiction: The Binding of the Blade series by LB Graham. A great Christian based fantasy setting. It...

Should prostitutes be able to adopt?

Not a problem. I would vote no regardless.

I never said anything of the sort. I was merely pointing out one reason.

Who carries and where do you take it?

I always have one when I have my PDA. Beyond that I don't take one every place I go. (Like to the store or the restaurant)

Should prostitutes be able to adopt?

Since prostitution is illegal in most states I would believe th answer would have to be no. Unless you would wish to allow other ongoing offenders to adopt...
