  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Two requests for the Sabbaterians at CF

Please take my comments below as a discussion of this as generalized discussion, and not finger pointing at individuals. I don't want to come across as judging anyone or calling anyone a "sinner." Clearly there is guidance of "Judge not, lest you be judged." I agree that if one reads nothing...

Large areas of agreement do exist between Bible Sabbath keeping groups and Sunday groups

I've decided that we should just rebrand the 10 commandments to the "9.5" commandments, and then we can all get along. :sorry:

Tim Allen Finishes the Bible, Says He Plans To Start Again

My office has been on a bible-through-the-year plan. Very interesting to discuss parts with others from different denominations. KT

Life is indeed precious, both in the womb and after birth, and throughout childhood, and well into adulthood. God has given us the privilege of helping each other all through life. KT

‘We Celebrate Her Courage’—LDS Post Praising Eve’s Choice To Eat Forbidden Fruit Goes Viral

All this makes me sad. I know some people who are LDS, and they seem to be good people. They go to church, support their families and speak of the focus that their church is putting on Jesus as their savior. I strongly suspect that they are in their church because that is their community and...

I don't really understand the book of Revelation

I think that Isaac Newton, the great physicist who was co-inventor of calculus etc, believed that prophetic books such as Daniel and Revelation are written such that one can look backwards and see that God what planning. But that one can't use these same sources to see forward and know exactly...

Protest / Right or No Right To Bear Arms

I am very conflicted about all this. The founding fathers seemed to want the general population to be able to be the ultimate check on governmental authority. They themselves had just thrown off the shackles of the British government, and that seems to me to be the ultimate goal of the right...

‘We Celebrate Her Courage’—LDS Post Praising Eve’s Choice To Eat Forbidden Fruit Goes Viral

Does anyone know if this is official LDS position, or just some poster making stuff up? KT

    Forbidden foods

Yes, but ... the Almighty (later incarnated as Jesus) also put Moses in a position of authority to make decisions as he saw fit. When the Pharisees questioned Jesus about divorce, an interesting distinction is seen: Is this Mosaic law about divorce from Moses or from God? Notice that...

    Forbidden foods

The law of Moses forbids eating unclean foods. Jesus told his disciples to eat whatever was put in front of them. How do you reconcile these apparent contradictions? KT

Supreme Court will decide on use of warrants that collect the location history of cellphone users

I, for one, look forward to some legal clarity on this issue. We live in a changing world, and we have to adapt. But it will be nice to have the government position clarified. Another issue I wish to see addressed is the use of license plate readers that can be placed at every intersection...

    Forbidden foods

They way I read the gospels is that Christ, if he was reaching out to a family, and was sharing a meal with them, and they were all eating rat sandwiches, then for their sakes, he would have eaten one with them. Not to say that the idea of it doesn’t turn my stomach. God has given us a...

    Forbidden foods

I understand your question, but would point out that "forbidden" is a bit of a strong word. I think most (hopefully!) Adventists would acknowledge that Jesus told his disciples to eat whatever was given to them if they went into someone's home. I think the idea is that Adventists understand...

    Scripture Memorization Tool

...Very nice. What generator did you use? I like the path concept from one thought/image to the next. That would be good for a progressive story or a chapter of the Bible. I am a little frustrated with the couple AI generators I use because they seem to generate different images each time using...
