  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Discussing Abortion Without Reference to Religion

My bad, since I'm coming at it from a legal pov. I'll bow out! :)

Discussing Abortion Without Reference to Religion

No, because as illustrated by my #2 example, after birth, the parents (who are under equal responsibility for the life of that child) are under no legal obligation to save it's life, if they retain their right to bodily integrity. Not if they choose to give it up for adoption. No, because...

Discussing Abortion Without Reference to Religion

Whether or not a fetus is a person with rights or not is irrelevent. Even if we assume that it is a full person with full rights, all people have the right to bodily integrity. No born person has the right to another's blood or organs as it violates their right to bodily integrity. This applies...

Pro-Life flowers on the steps of the Supreme Court

It's arguable whether a fetus should have the same rights as a born person, but they certainly cannot have more rights than any born person. And as no born person has any right to another's blood or organs against their will- even to save their life- a fetus cannot either. A fetus may have the...

    Pro-Choice Arguments

This is the only point I'll bother addressing as it encompasses the other two. All people have the right to bodily integrity. No born person has the right to another's blood or organs as it violates their right to bodily integrity. This applies even if it means saving that person's life...

Over 40 Million Dead Babies - Will Either Obama Or McCain Stop It?

Prolife doesn't care about people after they are born.

    Pro lifers: where are you?

AHAHAHAHAA!!! :D:D:D You CLEARLY STATED all children should be treated equally. Those were YOUR WORDS. So when I point out that, to be treated equally, the unborn have NO RIGHT to another's body/organs against that person's will, THEN you claim I'm being stupid??? You are just pised (sp) because...

    Pro lifers: where are you?

Then you are either completely ignorant or blind. The difference is that you are not directly living off of another person's body, and that's what makes the difference. It's even more wrong to force people to become government incubators. That's not compromise, that's you getting your...

    Pro lifers: where are you?

Isn't it obvious??? Not all people want children at all points in time, not all people want children at all. It's a huge financial, emotional, and physical stress on a woman. Are you joking here??? I'm starting to think you are trolling. Even infants have no concept of self awareness- that...

    Pro lifers: where are you?

You haven't been reading my posts then. ;) You'll see I make a perfectly logical argument that when life begins, and whether it is a person, is completely irrelevent. A fetus may or may not have a right to life, but it does not have to right to violate another's bodily integrity, as no born...

    Pro lifers: where are you?

An unwanted pregnancy is anything but a gift. So it seems pretty clear that someone (either woman or z/e/f) is going to be punished in the case of an unwanted pregnancy. Woman has been violated, has sentience, intelligent thought, fully developed, has job/family/friends. Zygote has no thought...

    Pro lifers: where are you?

If you believe that all children should be treated equally then you would realize that no born child has a right to their parent's blood or organs, thus, neither can a fetus. It's not for you to decide whether it will help an individual woman or not. It's not revenge. It's just...

    Pro lifers: where are you?

If enjoying a good quality of life is greedy, as opposed to stuffing in as many people as possible just because we want every woman to go through a forced pregnancy, then yes many people are probably greedy. As for celibacy, 1)it's not realistic and 2)I don't agree with it. There is nothing...

    The Life of the Mother

I'm really neither for it or against it. I would never advise someone to have an abortion, or try to talk them out of it. I would just support someone making the choice that they know to be best for themselves.
