  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Gay Marriages

We hear a lot of people today talking about their rights. Entitlement because of who one says they are. For those that reject the teachings of the bible their mere presence is a direct offense to his word. But then there are those who believe in the word and still sin willingly (like me). My...

Why doesn't my wife treat me like I'm the greatest guy who ever was?

Such a huge topic... 1) The OT sets up a pattern of partiarchy 2) Jesus was a man 3) Men are to be the head of their household 4) Being the head of the household is not a reward or prestigous position 5) Feminism in America is rampant 6) Men are jokes in today's world (TV, Radio, Comedy and in...

Supreme Court rules that death penalty illegal for rape of minors

Ok so don't put him to death, just put him in a cell that's 4' high, no TV, no Radio, no Human contact for the rest of his life. That should do it.

    Praying for the Dead

The concept of praying for the dead has no support in the bible. In fact everything that is mentioned with respect to salvation deals with taking action before you die. Can dry bones speak? Can the dead accept Christ after they're dead? Did Jesus ever teach us anything like this? Seek and...

How to refute the following dangerous abortion reasoning?

It is not ethical now or ever to make a choice of life and death for someone else. Hitler tried it, Stalin tried it, Mao tried it and all in the name of better society, but look what it really did. America is the number one baby killer in the world I've often wondered when we are going to pay...

Gay theology (i.e. Mel White, Soulforce) why even try?

God created man and woman, men have a penis women have a vagina. The penis goes into the vagina and over time babies are made. A perfect cycle of reprodution with the added pleasure of what it brings. Anything outside of this model is abnormal. Sexuality is the single most spiritual thing a...

Why do atheists care about a Christian forum?

Atheists like Christian forums because they can "supercede" any knowledge in their own minds. Arguments they hold to them are higher in their own minds than any faith. So for them it's a mental exercise of superiority. It validates them. And of course one would need validation in a belief...

The whole Spiritual Authority thing in Churches

Interesting note on Peter, he considered himself unworthy of Crucification in the same manner as Jesus, therefore, he asked to be crucified upside down and was according to tradition. Now, do we have anybody in the United States that considers themselves a top leader of the Christian church...

    Leadership in the Church

The problems with submitting to man are evident with Catholic priests, suppposed prophets such as Joesph Smith, the Sheparding Movement of the 70's, Jim Jones, even the folks in California "Heaven's Gate Cult". There is a propensity for man to control other men. Adolf Hitler was one of them...

The whole Spiritual Authority thing in Churches

I, a victim of the Sheparding movement saw the fallacy of man enter into good biblical concept. Bottom line is that any time a man sets up an institution of any type, sin is the slient partner, all man-made institutions are bound to fail over time. It's the impact/effect of sin. I say I was a...

    Anybody remember Christian Growth Ministries?

Derek Prince, Charles Simpson, Bob Mumford and others started a movement out of Ft. Lauderdale Fl. that was rooted in good ideas; however, many of the groups across the nation became cultish. Many resorting to Gnosistic ideals of "we have the inside track on how to worship properly, how to have...

    Stating a Small Group

I was actually considering taking an add out in the paper to start my own church/bible study/small group. But then I hear my wife attack my Chrisitainity and it's impossible to consider. The "prophet not being received in his own home town" has always applied to me... Of course some of it is...
