  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Americans rank clergy at record low in honesty and ethics ratings: Gallup

This bugs me.. It really does. I count several clergy members as friends, and they are the among most ethical, trustworthy people I know! Being that it bugs me, I went digging a little deeper. I'm not really any closer to figuring out why the drop, but I did find another article that...

Americans rank clergy at record low in honesty and ethics ratings: Gallup

More info on the poll is available on the Gallup site https://news.gallup.com/poll/700736/nurses-continue-lead-honesty-ethics-ratings.aspx The graphic below is from the article above. One thing that struck me when looking at the numbers was just that clergy was down, it was the rate at which...

ICE says 2 of its officers may have lied under oath about shooting migrant in Minnesota the officers were placed on administrative leave

Agree. ..and regarding Noem's comments of the 15th (the day after the shooting), where she said... Which now appears to be inaccurate at best. There is also a need to get facts straight before making statements. Its something pretty much every professional organization be it LEO...

Democratic Lawmaker Asks ICE Director If He’s ‘Going to Hell’ in Fiery Hearing

Just my opinion, but there is some truth in both those statements.. As for if the director is going to hell, I'm in no position to say..

FWIW - here is a rather lengthy and comprehensive article on the subject that I stumbled across recently.. https://archive.ph/8sZ2P How Soon Will AI Take Your Job? Economists aren’t sure. And politicians don’t have a plan.

Every church in America needs armed security

It is probably worth noting that an internal armed security team made up of church members can also carry its own risks if they are not properly trained.. https://www.lightwell.com/blog-news/church-security-member-sentenced-for-murder-lessons-learned-for-your-church-leadership-and-security-team...

A question I’ve been reflecting on about church buildings

I think its important to remember the size and age of the churches instead of making a blanket statement. In my area we have 1 church currently that does not have a building. They either rent space here and there as they can or try to find a park to have their service. They are in that odd...

    Economics: Producers and Consumers, A.I.

Someone, I think @Richard T , mentioned blue collar jobs as being the safest haven for now, and I agree. While, AI has the ability to do most white collar jobs, robotics haven't advanced enough (yet) for it to tackle many blue collar jobs. Those jobs offer the most margin of safety from AI...

Update on the latest news in My city. Student Walkout. Sorry still no article.

Ok - looks like the incident I was talking about happened in a place called Buda Texas, which seems to be near Austin. Evidently this incident began similar to the one you mentioned (high school kids staging a walk out / protest.

Update on the latest news in My city. Student Walkout. Sorry still no article.

Is this the same one where the videos are coming out of a grown man with a MAGA hat punching a teen girl about 1/2 his size before a group of teens (mostly boys) come to her rescue and start punching him causing him to retreat back to his suv?

He wasn't born into a Christian family like I was, and for me, that does not compute

I would say it is certainly beneficial, but its not a 100% guarantee. Some are tempted, swayed or stray later in life for various reasons. People are still people (even Christians) and not without flaws. In their upbringing, some run into issues at home or at church that drive a wedge between...
