  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Dealing with hypocrisy

I am relatively new to the Messianic/Hebrew roots movement. I do think there is more truth to be gleaned from it than I have found in any Christian denomination. I still see so much hypocrisy, even in this movement. People who believe we should follow Torah but seem to pick and choose what...

    Always the outsider

Find a church that is doctrinally sound and just keep going. They will become more friendly over time, as God makes you a part of their congregation. Just go, keep learning, stay positive, keep praying.

I have no idea what I'm doing

Being that you are only a 4 year old in the faith, perhaps the Lord wishes you to experience various expressions of His church? Seriously, find a basically sound church and give it 6 months, then go to another and give it 6 months. I would look at Non-Denominational s, Reformed Baptists and...

You are correct, I have a very small group currently. Partly, I'm trying different things to see what seems to help. I have a variety of interests in this, but they tend to be pragmatic; not sure if that is always the best approach. We have a person who is not well grounded, not very vocal...

    First house meeting

Follow the way of the early church, use it as the pattern. Some Apostolic traditions that should still be followed by the church today: 1. The Lord’s Supper eaten as a full meal (1 Co 11:17-34). 2. The Lord’s Supper partaken of weekly (1 Co 11:17-22). 3. The Lord’s...

I wasn't upset, I appreciate your input. I just didn't completely agree with it. We must be open to realizing that we don't know it all, if I didn't think that way I wouldn't ask others for their opinions and ideas. I am in fundamental agreement with you, we must always go back to what the...

The only reason we call the Bible "the Bible" is because of what happened with Church History. God did not write anywhere use these books and these only. True, we must take time and study the Bible, but to deny ourselves other aids to assist our understanding is, in my opinion not wise, to do...

Thanks, but I don't agree completely. I think if we ignore what the saints of old have to say then we are ignoring one of the ways God uses to help us learn. It's almost like trusting God to heal you when you get very sick, even though He has given us doctors. For example, in Mark 16:16, Jesus...

Originally you wrote "unfortunately, they have both told me that they don't care to go or where they go. They think that I am being mean by taking them. I just had this argument with my daughter this morning. She wanted to go spend the night at a friend's house. i told her she could go...

    nothiing special

I said I could be reading it wrong, you did not say she was going to church with you, thus my concerns. We must do all to the glory of God, if staying with someone all night does not glorify God then it shouldn't be done. Jesus ate with and talked to people who were blatantly sinning, He did...

I do that too, but what do you use to help you teach it? I use mostly reformed commentaries and some of the confessions.

What I'm trying to show you is that since your daughter is spending the night with a friend that you seem to approve of, that that is pointing to the real problem. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but the implication is that the friend is not a christian, otherwise your daughter would go to church...

I will give you some verses, you can figure out the implications; basically it sounds to me like you are reaping what you have sown, there is still hope but you must get back to the principles God has given us in His Word: Matthew 12:30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does...

For what it's worth, I'd start by looking at the doctrines and theologies being taught by the churches in your area. Following God's design as best you understand it is an important factor in your life, your leadership in your family, your activities, etc. Read the general beliefs of the...

    Sunday School Ideas

I'm gathering ideas for Sunday School materials. I've been looking at traditional curriculum's, old and new testament surveys, teaching thru some of the confessions, etc. I'm interested in hearing what some of you are using and if any of you have any types of Sunday schools and/or Bible studies.
