  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why are many women sexually attracted to other women?

I don't know if "normal" is the word. It seems more common or socially acceptable for women who have those feelings to admit it, compared to men. There is also the factor that some men enjoy watching women together and some women will act that way for the benefit of a man or men. Yes...

David Barton's defamation lawsuit win against politicians

Disbelieving in the Virgin Birth/ miracles of the Bible would put Jefferson, if he considered himself a follower of Jesus (which I haven't researched), within the category of Liberal Christianity (as a descriptive term), though not within Nicene (or "orthodox") Christianity (the old CF...

    Forgive, and forget?

For what it's worth, forgiving means letting go of grudges for your OWN spiritual health. It doesn't mean you lay yourself out as a doormat to get stomped on repeatedly. You can both forgive and protect yourself from someone who has harmed you. You can also forgive AND get to the point of...

Why do men feel threatened by single women?

I refuse to accept "feminist" as an insult, although I realize some say it with hostility. Perhaps some men do not realize that our lives do not have to revolve around them, and this makes them sad.

    Why do you vote?

To have my say in a representative democracy. And besides candidates, there are often ballot measures. One vote here, one vote there, soon you're talking about real numbers. In other words: there are plenty of people who vote like me, it makes sense to pump it up so we can win.

Louie Gohmert enters race for Speaker of the House

I guess the GOP will get the leadership it deserves. You have to put up with our cracks as we've already put up with the cracks about Pelosi.

NYPD again turn their backs to Mayor DeBlasio at second officer's funeral

De Blasio ran on, in part, cleaning up issues within the NYPD. Naturally the NYPD doesn't want him to do that, they seized this opportunity to try and undermine him.

    Socialised Medicine ...... Arrrrgh

Yes, there is poor coverage in one of 3 different ways I can think of off the top of my head: 1. The insurance plan doesn't cover a lot of medically necessary services/procedures. Much of this is now forbidden by Obamacare, but Obamacare has raised the price of plans, because some of the...

    Socialised Medicine ...... Arrrrgh

It is true I don't want a Postal/DMV clerk managing my health care... ^_^ But working down the road from the National Naval Medical Center for so long, I gather they have a pretty tight operation there.

    Socialised Medicine ...... Arrrrgh

I believe the underlying dynamics have more to do with supply and demand, unless the system intentionally uses wait listing as rationing (as Canada does) for some non-urgent elective procedures (and in Canada, as I understand it, the trick is timing your placement on the wait list carefully)...

    Socialised Medicine ...... Arrrrgh

There is not ever a wait list for Labor & Delivery, thank goodness :D

    Socialised Medicine ...... Arrrrgh

I love the tacit assumption in these discussions that no one would EVER have to wait months for surgery in the US, although people actually routinely wait months for certain elective surgeries in the US. I waited 6 weeks to have a gall bladder out, even. And I have had to wait up to 3 months...

    Socialised Medicine ...... Arrrrgh

There is a tax penalty for not buying qualifying insurance plan, as long as you have a certain income and you can find a plan that qualifies as "affordable" (usually up to about 9% of your income in premiums). Note that there is no requirement to buy a plan if you can't find an affordable one...

How can we effectively address the rape / sexual assaut epidemic in the U.S.?

That is incorrect. Colleges are required by law to investigate accusations of sexual harassment and assault by students. What colleges and police actually appear to do is discourage victims from reporting on the (very true) grounds that pursuing charges in either forum can be traumatic for...

How can we effectively address the rape / sexual assaut epidemic in the U.S.?

The legal definition of rape is similar in many jurisdictions. Most of the other offenses fall under some kind of sexual assault or sexual battery definition instead. The penalties are substantially similar.
