  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Father Donald Calloway: What Catholics Can Do About the Alarming Decline of Belief in the Real Eucharistic Presence

Hello. A well-known evangelical YouTuber from my country found his way to the Catholic faith, and Eucharistic miracles were one of the reasons that inspired him. Bible and Tradition

The Bible and Tradition are two important aspects of God's revelation. The two aspects are united in such a way that they cannot replace each other, and the word of God itself presents Tradition as the basis of the believer's faith; "Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard...

The universality of the will to Salvation.

What does it mean to be saved? Jesus expresses it clearly “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” (Lk 19:9-10). Saint Paul will later add: “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all...

Hello brother. I was raised in the Catholic faith, although I distanced myself from it during my youth. However, over time, I have felt the call to return to my spiritual home. I understand what you are saying about the difficulty of applying Galatians 5:22-23 in daily life; It requires effort...

    Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Come Holy Spirit. Pour deep faith into me, so that I can recognize you. Give me the grace to accept that you are truly here with me right now. Bibliolatry

Of course they talk about the Old Testament, the New Testament canon did not exist. The one who defined it, among a multitude of writings, and declared that it was the Word of God was Pope Damasus I in the year 382.

    Bibliolatry

None of the verses you cite say that the Bible alone is the only authority in the life of a Christian. On the contrary, there are passages that point to the importance of apostolic tradition. Since during the apostolic era it was clear that the oral proclamation of the apostles was...

    Bread of heaven

It's right. Jesus is not sacrificed again in the mass but rather his sacrifice is commemorated, which is called a memorial. During the mass we are commemorating or making a memorial of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, (that is, only remembering, contemplating, announcing his death) but not...
