A worthy quest for Christian writers.

I'm writing a fantasy story and it involves both a single God and some occult-type magic (summoning angels to be exact). Is this is bad idea? The angels are still messengers of the "Great One" (God), and are by no means lesser or enslaved by the magicians, but guides, as the magicians are...

Am I the only one who likes Anne of Green Gables????

I did a play of Anne of Green Gables! Great story from what the play told. I was Mr. Preston, and we acted up til the part where Anne gets her hair cut (short amount of time).

    Question for Muslims

Are Christians allowed in Mosques? If so, are they allowed to pray in their own way while in the Mosques?

Taking the Name of the Lord in Vain

Sorry if that was off-topic, just a thought. I hope you aren't annoyed at me asking these questions. They're very elementary. Er, thanks for answering, though. I think I get it! :) Cheers!

Taking the Name of the Lord in Vain

Oh, something I forgot to mention. The people of the Old Testament probably understood better than us, but isn't the Lord's name YHWH? God is just his nature, although that is how English-speaking people refer to him nowadays.

Taking the Name of the Lord in Vain

To curse something though, would be to wish something bad on it. If one doesn't wish something bad on something or someone else is using God's name in such a way still wrong?

    Predestined Damnation....

Well, I studied this quite recently in my comparitive religions class and my teacher made some pretty good points. 1) In the Old Testament, God chose the Israelites, while there were still many other people in the world. He protected them, revealed his truths to them, but nobody else. 2)...

Taking the Name of the Lord in Vain

Recently, I was thinking, "When someone says 'God!' when they're frustrated or something, is that really taking the name of the Lord in vain?" At first, I thought that it should mean don't say YHWH, for that is a big deal to the Jews. After looking it up in my Catechism book, it said that...

    scoliolosis

Used to have it, but I don't think I have it now, technically, though I am prone to it. I still get sudden pains in my chest and stuff, does anybody else have those?

    Wicca - Good or Evil

Like Jerusha_Girl said, unconfrontational is good! :) I don't want to argue. I may not have any verses to back me up, but I wouldn't call Wicca evil, misleading, but not evil. Evil's a harsh word. -_- It is not taking away Christ's glory, but is leading some away from it. I don't want to...

    Catholicism vs. Christianity

Catholicism is a denomination of Christianity, just like Baptist, Methodist, and Presbyterian. Look in any dictionary/encyclopedia, etc. Like I said before, Catholics believe Christ was the Son of God, they worship him, they read the Bible, all key parts of Christianity. They may be a lot...

    Wicca - Good or Evil

0_0 I'm so glad I didn't read all 129 pages.... First of all, I don't believe that Wicca is evil or of the devil. I don't believe that Wicca is a valid spiritual path, as I believe Jesus Christ is the way to achieve contentment and happiness, etc. I am not critisizing (sp) Wicca in any way...

    Catholicism vs. Christianity

Well, being a Catholic, and having experienced some Protestantism, I'll share my views. I'm probably not as old as the rest of you folks, and haven't had much PRE, so just remember that! ;) I think most of the "non-Christian" practises of Catholisicm are because it was the first church and...
