  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Has the Catholic Church become the church that Jesus wanted or not?

That's the same question lol.....so I guess I will give you the same answer.....No because Jesus Christ and His Church, the Catholic Church are One and the Same. If you are questioning the teachings of the Church then you are questioning Jesus. Especially when He said the gates of hell shall not...

Reconciliation between Rome and SSPX imminent? Pope Francis and Bishop Fellay hold out olive branch

The first part is my opinion. The second part is from Pope Francis.

Has the Catholic Church become the church that Jesus wanted or not?

No because Jesus Christ and His Church, the Catholic Church are One and the Same. If you are questioning the teachings of the Church then you are questioning Jesus. Especially when He said the gates of hell shall not prevail against His Church. Always remember.....our first Pope denied Jesus...

Reconciliation between Rome and SSPX imminent? Pope Francis and Bishop Fellay hold out olive branch

I think Pope Francis recognizes that the SSPX will be a strong voice against the liberals. That and he has an admiration of their good Faith and Sacramental practice.

[Runoff Poll] Traditional Catholic Forum name

Are these the actual titles? In the previous poll Salt of the Earth had a sub title 'in union with Rome'.

As far as unity and self interpretation, Protestants have nothing on Catholics

And you would be wrong because you are thinking in the same way protestants do.....as individuals separated from the Church that Jesus founded. That is what protestantism is.....separating Jesus from His Church, the Catholic Church. You hear much from protestants about a 'personal relationship'...

    [Poll]Traditional Catholic Forum name

Not sure I understand. He was instrumental in the return of the Traditional Latin Mass after it was suppressed due to false interpretation by the 'spirit' of Vatican II crowd.

    [Poll]Traditional Catholic Forum name

I voted for Beauty Everlasting but my real suggestion would be to name it after Pope Benedict XVI.

    My life the last years

I will keep you in my daily prayers. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians...

The context of when Pope Francis said, "Who am I to judge?"

We certainly can judge actions. A key mission given by Christ to His Church, the Catholic Church, is the salvation of souls. The identification and condemnation of sin is necessary in that mission.

Is the Nun Shortage Due to Sisters' No Longer Wearing Habits?

The attack on family was due in part because of liberals in and outside the Catholic Church denying a teaching of Jesus when they supported contraception. The dissent shown by liberals to Pope Paul XI's Humanae Vitae was and still is pretty evident.

Is the Nun Shortage Due to Sisters' No Longer Wearing Habits?

I believe it is due to liberalism in and outside the Church that is the cause of this. Same thing happened after Vatican II when the 'spirit' of Vatican II caused much damage to the Church. Religious orders were decimated and Catholic educational institutions ceased to being Catholic. Look for a...

    Favorite charities?

I mainly stick to keeping it local. I donate my time and money to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul..... they do amazing work for the local community and I also donate to my parish. Those are on a consistent basis. Every so often I will donate to Rachel's Vineyard and Society for the...

    Presbyterian Church approves same-sex marriage

As always we look to Jesus for example..... And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you (compassion). Go your way, and from now on do not sin again (conversion)." Compassion for this life, conversion for the next. Both are pastoral and done out of love. A key part of the Church's mission is...
